calebtrueblue
So I was doing my morning feeding today and a yellow goby showed up. I can't even remember buying a yellow goby, and if I did it was over 2 years ago. I'm totally beside myself. I look at this thing every day, I can't believe he was hiding this whole time.

SilentNight1793
I had something like this happen with a Christmas wrasse. Bought it from someone and seen it for like 10 minutes and then disappeared for over 2 months. Sold the tank and started cleaning out the sand and boom, there he was swimming around. They find a good place to hide and come out very rarely.
cmrun
Maybe it was spontaneous generation? I usually find that when a fish doesn't show themselves during feeding its time to look for them in my overflows!
calebtrueblue
I had a starfish end up in an overflow once, but never a fish. I have a pretty tight lid so jumping in the overflow would be a task. Since I made this post, I haven't seen him again. Thinking about getting him a pistol shrimp. SantaMonicaHelp
Well, that's... random. I'm glad it seems to be working out, though! It's always odd yet charming when animals pop out of nowhere... -Kamran
