  1. Engage safety squints! Haha . Thanks for sharing both the good and the bad!
  2. Yes, I have a record of payments and timestamps. I'm maintaining a spreadsheet for stated preferences. Any new table requests should be sent to me via pm or with payment please. I don't really want to work out all 18 in real time on display here, thanks.
  3. Hobby Table Map and Room Photo updated... sorry for the way I described the location. I'm just so excited for the secondary room (right behind the wall behind the hobby tables), that I didn't realize how that description downplayed the awesome place where you will be set up! Photo snipped from the location's google maps entry, but I believe is taken from the perspective of about where the hobby tables will be. Someone correct me if I've grabbed the wrong room photo.
  4. I'll claim ownership of that sweatshirt, and most of the kids! πŸ˜‚
  5. At this time, current INDMAS Members may reserve a table at the 2018 frag swap by sending an email to [email protected] (or [email protected]) I will confirm table availability and we'll work out payment from from there. This year, the hobby tables will line the wall just outside the educational room (ninja edit, see discussion and clarification below), and will be numbered H1 to H18. (9, 8-foot tables total) I will update this thread over the weekend as spots are confirmed. Looking forward to seeing all of that INDMAS livestock pride! Respectfully, -Ben [Edit: 11 of our 18 spots are full here at the end of the first weekend, thanks for getting right on this! ...if you still want a table, now's the time! ]
  6. Haha. Good on you, Mafia Boss.
  7. Octopus is so smart! https://i.imgur.com/pViuzuA.gifv
  8. Thanks for sharing Kamran, those are some very interesting and creative displays!
  9. It's been a good couple weeks with my new best friend. It eats rods food like nobody's business and shares the rock amicably.enough with 4-6 others (smaller) and many micro brittle stars in the 3-gallon picotope.
  10. That pecinia sure was pretty. The "one area of the tank" is really intriguing. If you have similar, unaffected coral elsewhere my mind goes to the "stirred something up" rational. I'm sure this fear will come up in this month's discussion about sandbeds.
  11. Oh no, losing coral like that sucks!
  12. I am looking for someone who has weekday availability to help pick something up (a raffle prize) prior to the November meeting. . . Business holding it is near 33rd & Post, their hours are M-F 9a-5p. Size is 54" long, FYI PM me if you have availability/interest please. -Ben
  13. I like your idea, and am mid-cure on a very similar batch. I did an additional couple steps after the bleach... a couple days in tap water, a couple more days in RODI discharge, then RO, now salt. I haven't tested any levels yet... figured I was in no rush. Do you think it is possible that there simply wasn't *anything* left to start growing after the bleach bath? When I won the quarantine raffle last month, it came with a bottle of bacteria to kick-start the process... would you consider adding something like that? -Ben
  14. Ooo, I like the pic collage. Excited to see the two week tests!
  15. I love getting new CL alert emails, but this search for "coral" gets my hopes up sometimes! Ooo, a garage sale post... prices could be really low on this one! Scrolling... scrolling... ::Facepalm::
  16. Looks like a great start! I really like the structure on the left already! The right side looks a little too random... can you pull the front left part out, and turn that one on the top left vertical somehow? What are you thinking in terms of coral in this system? Have places and plans established in the aquascape for what you want?
  17. Happy Halloween everyone! I hope this finds you safe and healthy. Don't forget to enforce your annual parent tax this year...πŸ€”πŸ«πŸ¬ Depending on the temperature this year, I am considering setting this inside the door to spook curious trick-or-treaters... 3-gallon picotope, 9-inch bristle worm. It certainly spooked me recently, when I found it crawling up the silicone in the corner towards my light!
  18. Thanks INDMAS! Certainly for the raffle prize......but more for your unanimous vote of confidence as treasurer! Haha. My 10-gallon quarantine is now set up and running, and Amanda's presentation certainly influenced my quarantine plans for the coming months! I tabled the bowfront plans I had, and set things up alongside a 3-gallon picotope with a... Halloween Observation Area? Let's take that bristle worm to another thread. Really, I'm looking forward to engaging in a new way... and hope anyone/everyone else reading this will choose to engage this fall with the club in a new way of your own. Ask a question... Post a funny thought you had about the smirk on your goby's face... Geek out with a few others here about any aspect this fascinating hobby that brings us together. Respectfully, -Ben
  19. Here's an article I had saved... Montipora Eating Nudibranchs https://www.pacificeastaquaculture.com/reef-pest-control.asp Another common Nudibranch is the Montipora eating Nudibranch. These very small, white or cream colored nudis are often very hard to spot and may be more easily identified, at least at first, by the damage they do to your corals. Slowly expanding pale, dead, or dying areas around the edges of your Montipora are a clue that you may need to check for nudis. Check around these edges, as well as in crevices or cracks, and on the underside of the piece and remove any visible adults and eggs. Some dips, like Iodine based dips, are effective against adult nudis but care should be taken with such dips to not overstress your corals. Predatory wrasses may also help to remove adults. In some cases, fragging may be necessary to remove affected portions of a colony in an effort to save remaining healthy areas.
  20. I wish, but no. I tried a couple freshwater tanks in the past 2 years and all got quickly out of spec. For now I'll stick with "easy" saltwater in comparison.
  21. You heard it here first... After cycling with damsels, I always add a denso garden right away to take care of them before infighting begins. πŸ˜‚
  22. I know everyone will be at the Copps event on Saturday Afternoon... but is anyone free otherwise for a little manual labor? Free Beer, and snacks! Send me a PM or text at 765-414-8467 I don't have any frags for helpers at this point... but I'll start you a tab towards what I get growing in the new house's setup! Friday 6PM : Unload Furniture from Truck/Trailer in Flat Rock. Sat Early-AM or Late-PM : Apartment / Storage Unit from Greenfield to Flat Rock. Saturday or Sunday? : Aquarium Hobby (tanks, stand, totes) from McCordsville to Flat Rock I hate the idea of everyone driving so very far from one end to the other... if you near one end or the other, send me a PM and come help me out! -Ben
