I am also running a 4 channel dimmer so I will be able to dim white, blue , uv, red and green seperatly. 8 meanwell drivers pretinning my leds heat sink with all leds mounted whites are wired, uvs are wired here are all 3 heat sinks need to finish soldering this is the pattern I went with silver are my white, blue are royal blue, light blue are uv, then red and green. I also added moonlight

Reefer82
Not bad, are those rapidled heatsinks ?
Budman
These are the rapid led heat sinks. I have these finished and on the tank I like them so far. I have the 4 channel potentiometer from led group buy but I have had problems with it.
Reefer82
What issues are you having? I was considering that unit for control as well.
Dustin1300
Do you have the lights built/functional?
Budman
What issues are you having? I was considering that unit for control as well. I have them running I just dont like the cheap pots from led group buy. I am going to replace them. all the rapid led stuff is great. reefer82 I am on the west side of Indy if you would like to see them. you will have to excuse my tank I have had some algea problems but the lights are great. Dustin1300
Not sure if you've seen them but ReefLEDLights has some nice dimming boxes: Two POTs Box Link Box You could find the link box for much better price, actually just ordered a few cat5 splitters myself and just came in. Dustin1300
Looks good. Did you put acrylic over the lights as a splash guard?
Budman
the acrylic came with the heat sinks
PatO
Might be pics being skewed, but the plexi looks super thick!
Dustin1300
It might be 1/4-3/8" thick, you might have a little loss of light but that's better than the LEDs getting wet!
Budman
It is more like 1/8 it is pretty thin stuff. plus they slide right out of a channel for easy cleaning

Reefer82
Looks pretty good, ill have to check it out sometime. No days free until Monday probably. I did tank maintenance yesterday along with everything else needing done and we took the girls to the children's museum today so that wiped out all the free time. Budman
Just a quick update I have had these lights running since Feb . Some of the corals I have had for years are more colorful now than ever before. There has also been a lot of growth. I had an outbreak in cyno and other algea I think it is from the intensity change and spectrum from halide/VHO/ PC combo to led. I also believe that the algea is because this tank has been set up in the same spot for 17 years old sand and rock and neglect over some of those years. I have been slowly getting rid of this algea and tank is really looking much better.
lclzgarling
That's pretty impressive 17 yrs with the same tank
Budman
yea a few corals are even from an earlier tank. I have had it crash 2-3 times but never wanted to give up. most of my rock is 20 years old.
