  1. Now we're talking. That's kinda cool though is a fairly crappy article. Definitely worth further reading. My wife would be down for that I bet. She's crazy blind like Brandon
  2. Laser! No j/k. Laser caused mine to spread like wildfire. We missed part of one I'm pretty sure. Kalk paste always worked in the past I was just wanting to try something new.
  3. Welcome to the club. Sorry to hear you're having issues. What side of town are you on? We have members all over so I'm sure there's someone that can probably help. Is it a new system or one you moved here? Any details you can provide can help us all try to figure it out.
  4. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/3M-Safety-NA/Safety/Product-Catalog/~/3M-Nitrile-Gloves?N=5927440+3294427437+3294529207&rt=rud Lowe's sells them. I took them and poured straight acid on them, let it sit for 5, neutralized and rinsed then put them on and sat my hand in water for about 15min to see if it compromised the outer layer and had any liquid intrusion. Good to go so I trust them completely with the dilution ratio we typically use with it. I do keep another pair on hand that's never been used to mess with abrasive stuff like rocks when I'm pouring acid, just in case
  5. The 3m acid resistant (teal blue) gloves I use when messing with muriatic acid would work well. They are a thinner material and go fairly well up to my elbow. I'm like you ricky, I always get a crazy rash on forearms. It's saltwater in general, I hate swimming in the ocean because of it. Lol. Have to immediately rinse off.
  6. I've had a pair of these for years. They are pretty thick in the fingers. I don't think you'd want those if you're trying to prune some sps or anything because you can't feel how much pressure you're using while grabbing small items. As long as it's something solid say like picking up from the base of a frag plug or similar you'd be fine but you need to space things out to allow for the bulk of them.
  7. I have a Jager in there as well as the cobalt. I've had 2 jagers destroy livestock in the past so figured I'd mix it up a bit, I have an apex now so it's not as much of a concern but at the time it seemed like a good idea. So far nothing is dead....just very angry looking.
  8. I was trying to figure out earlier what smelled like burnt hair in my house....very faint but very distinct smell. Looked around forever, finally kicked off the tank and it subsided a bit though nothing felt hot or looked otherwise wrong, turned back on and within 2 minutes the smell returned. Remembered a thread about them rupturing over on reef central. Bingo, 2" split down the side. It's currently sitting in my backyard and I can smell it 50' downwind it smells so bad. Corals don't look terribly pleased but I just loaded up a half of a reactor with carbon. Just got wrapped up with a 14r day of work and don't have a water change ready to go so hoping it's fine till tomorrow evening since I have be back on by 9am. Let's see if they warranty it....and send me a couple maxijets instead. You won't see another neotherm in my tank. At least when the jagers go they just get hot. The apex can fix that. You have no idea how hard it is to sleep with the smell of what mimics scorched hair very well permeating your house.
  9. Crap. Totally forgot about this and I was even off today. Ugh.
  10. Not sure but I figured if IM couldn't get it right with the crappy baskets they included yet make the nicer custom caddy they didn't deserve the extra business. It's almost like they did it on purpose. I've used in tank products in the past and they are some of the most well made accessories I've seen in this hobby. I started this hobby with a red sea max and stevieT that owns intank started his company making things for those tanks and the biocube and expanded from there. They have a removable middle shelf, everything is laser cut and has a polished look to it and fits perfect. Basically I know they are a company that cares about their products and the hobby and makes nothing less than the best so I chose to support them over IM.
  11. I have the nuvo fusion 20 and been nothing but pleased. Same here regarding spin stream nozzles and the intank media baskets. I'm using a cobalt MJ1200 for a return. The stock one of the smaller tanks is noisy buthe I'm fairly certain the 30/40 use a totally different pump so you may have better luck. There's an IM 40 in our sale forum right now that's a great price. Check it out
  12. Lol... Never leave the kids in charge. Thanks for hosting, great time as always. Clayton, awesome job with the tank basics. I saw a bit of note tanking on what you had to say so it definitely made an impact.
  13. This just serious with that picture of the grill. #dontbelate
  14. No one. Nanos aren't usually an on display type thing that I've ever experienced at stores though I'd recommend an innovative marine fusion series. I have one for a frag system and it's one of the best tanks I've owned in terms of looks/features/price.
  15. Does anyone that's going have any of the calibration solution packets for pH probes?
  16. Sounds like a plan then. So be it I guess. I was doing a water change a few minutes ago and managed to break my green digi. Guess I have something to bring now
  17. I guess that's up to Ross and everyone else. I could bring something
  18. I didn't realize Ross updated the portal, I didon't bother to check the thread, my fault. Dan and anyone else I just put the address in the first post of this thread.
  19. That looks pretty nice. I haven't seen one of those yet. I'm still on the macri learning curve myself. I need to invest in a quality tripod. I bought a 60mm F2.8 Macro awhile back but lack the post processing technique and associated equipment to really take advantage of it. The lens pretty similar to the 60mm Nikkor and allows some other cool features with the mirrorless NX camera I picked up last year plus it's MUCH lighter than my Canon was. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/757452-REG/Samsung_EX_M60SB_60mm_f_2_8_Macro_ED.html Here's the tripod I'm looking at currently. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1059031-REG/manfrotto_mkcompactadv_bk_compact_advanced_tripod_black.html
  20. Lol... better hope that baby sleeps through the night by day 7.
