Put airline tubing in the vents, and use the lil adjusters to control the amount of air. I had same issue and I fixxed it this way. Now it makes no noise at all!

hey guys! i had been looking for a maroon for awhile now. been seeing really little ones at bills, and a few other places but never one that caught my eye enough. they all seamed to be swimming wierd or something to them that just didn't seam apealing to me. well today me and my gf went to bills by greenwood park mall, just being nosey not really looking to get anything, and i found her!!!!! a beautiful almost 3.5inch maroon clown! she is so pretty. so i had to have her! got the ok from my gf to get her and so we did. she looks amazingly healthy too. no nipped fins nothing. first one i have been able to find this big with no nipped fins at a store. and she was swimming around perfectly. i was excited. well apearently i got the dumb ass guy to help me (*****!) some ghetto guy. i was a little concerned. he didn't seam to know much about them. and i had read that you are not supposed to net them, because of the spines in there cheacks, assuming this is correct i said something to the guy as he grabed a net to catch her. well goes on for about 5 minutes about that its ok to net them and that it wont hurt her and she wont get caught on it and that thats how he put her in there blah blah blah blah blah. so me being nieve i said ok and went with it, figured maybe he actually new what he was talking about. well i was wrong. he got her and went to put her in to the little speciamen container tht they use, and she got her spine stuck! i was very very scared. she was only stuck for about 3 seconds, but still. he got her in the back and what not so i sat there for a few minutes and made sure she ws still ok, not bleeding nothing like that. i got home and she still looked fine, let her acclimate for about 3 hours dripping water into her bag while the bag was floating in the tank. after that i used a plastic bowl that i use for my tank to put her in it, and then into the tank. sadly i couldn't not get a little bit of the water with her. she is swimming fine and what not just kinda chillin in the back behind some rocks now. but i just wanted to know if theres any thing i should look for as far as injury to her from his dumb ass netting her when i told him not to. i love her already tho she is so beautiful! and my gf named her pumpkin since she is pumpkin colored. lol. also, do they like low flow or high flow? cause i have really high flow in my tank and i think it might be to much for her. i have a maxi jet 1200 with sureflow mod on it in a 55. never had an issue befor. she will be going into a 125 soon, and i plan to run two maxijets 1200's with the sureflow mod. love that pump, with a mag drive 9.5 as my return pump. i just don't want to hurt her from to much flow, if thats possible? she will deffinatly be the center of my tank in the 125. i want to do anything and every thing to make her happy in it. i just love the maroon clowns. only other question i have is i eventually want to find her a mate. does any one know of a local store that will work with me on this? as far as letting me trade out the a male for a different one when i go to find a mate? cause i have read that with the maroons it can take a couple tries. and also would a white stipe pair with a gold stipe? the one i got is a white stripe would be cool if i could get her a little gold stipe bf.

skimmer number 2 (for sale or trade also) sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. don't have a digital camera. if any one knows how to set up eaither one of the skimmers please tell me how! i can't figure them out for the life of me. and please let me know what you guys think of it! its all glass, the sides and back have window tint on them and the top half of the stand does come off so it would be visable from all sides if i wanted but for now i think i'm going to leave it only the front side visable. i kinda like it that way.

and my finger to show how thick this glass is the over flow, i'm going to replace it, its a pvc pipe that some one cut and used as an over flow. not a bad idea but they cut it all messed up. the sump i got with it (for sale or trade) the trickle tray, drops down into bio balls skimmer number 1 (for sale or trade also)

hey guys! just wanted to let every one know that i got the tank today, along with two skimmers, and a sump. the sump is pretty big! i would say bigger the a 40 long. and the two skimmers are pretty big as well. not sure witch one i'm going to use. would using both be a bad idea? also to every one that looked at the tank on cl, it looks a million times better in person! and its all glass! all four sides. theres just a wood cover that covers up the back and two sides. its actually a really nice tank! i'll get some pics of it up tomorrow.

not to sure what i want to keep in it as far as stocking yet. any thing you guys can think of that would be worthe me looking into just let me know. and idk if i will need much help on thursday all were really doing is gonna get it home to my house. i wanna sand it down a little and restain it. and figure out how to make a new door for the other side thats missing one, or make two new doors. idk we will see. but deffinatly throw some suggestions out there as to what you guys think i should get. i'll deffinatly do some research on it and see if i would like it. and i'll look into the rock at premium. only thing that sux is i need a ton of it. but i still have my old 55 set up and so i can let all the rock get seeded in there and every thing like that.

yea im getting it off of cl. going to pick it up thrusday morning. the stand needs some work since its missing a door and is an ugly red color. but i'll get pics posted of it once i get it home and start working on it. were gonna stain it a nice dark cherry almost black color, and fix the door. any one know why its only got the glass on one side? i really like it for that reason just thought it was odd. also i will prolly start a build thread on this or something once i get it home and start playing with it. i want to go with black sand in the bottom of it, any advice on that? also if any one knows the best place to get base rock or dead live rock please let me know. or if any one has any they would want to give away or trade? let me know also. but i'll get some pics posted thrusday or friday when i get it home.

hey guys, i'm buying a rr tank thats supposed to be around a 125. only problem is that its not a square its got four different sides! its pretty bad ass. "The dimensions are as follows. The front pane is 48 long, the rear pane is 51 long, the left pane is 25 long, and the right pane is 15 long. I forgot to measure the depth but I believe it is 30 deep." thats what the guy said. any way to find out how many gallons it is?

I plao to add a snowflake eel, coral beauty angel, one more clown, and two black and white clowns, and a blue tang (gf said I have to or I can't have the tank). I hope I will be ok with 4 clowns. But there all the same species plus that's a lot of tank.

So I'm getting a 250 gallon tank this weekend. My room mate use to keep his snake in it. She is in a 180 now. I'm not sure what the deminsions are yet, will no on saturday. He thinks that it needs resealed. What should I use to do this? My plans for this tank are to be a reef tank eventually. And I also plan to keep a snowflake eel in it. So I'm planning on using pvc pipe for tunels and to give the rock work structure so the eel won't cause rock slides. This is gonna take me awhile to get it up and going but it will be worthe it. I'm realy excited about this tank tho. And I'm sure I'm gonna need help so if any one has any tips please I'm open to advice. I just wanna keep easy corals for now. I'm gonna have 8x65 watt pc bulbs and a 6bulb t5 set up with individule reflectors. Not sure if that's gonna be enough or not we will see. But also if any one knows were I can get crushed coral, base rock, and any other rock cheap please let me know. I'm gonna need alot! Or if any one has any thing they don't want let me know I would be more then willing to take it off ur hands

HELP guys. Every thing was fine yesterday. Turned the lights off and she was swimmin around like normal. Well I go to turn the lights on and she(now named nemo, since she keeps coming up missing) was not in the tank. So I checked my over flow and there she is. Its a cpr. Cs90 over flow on a 55 gallon tank, is there any way to keep her out of there? Could I put my power head next to it blowing past it? She doesn't like the strong current from my power head
