Dustin1300
As Shane said, it's just control of the two channels, not one side of the light. I'd not be overly concerned on the overlapping areas and just plan on placing high light corals in that area.
jesterisdead
Here is my design. Im sure the u-channel will support it as its aluminum but I'll see once I built it and drilled all my holes. I'm using steel all-thread rods as well so the whole design is silver and shouldn't freak the wife out to much. I got some extra iron to connect the rods to in the attic to support the weight. Dustin1300
Looks good. Another good option is 80/20 if you are still in the planning stages. It's what I plan to build light rack for my LEDs on my tank.
jesterisdead
Whats 80/20? I bought all the stuff I need to build, just need to measure, measure, and measure again then begin assembly. Still trying to decide on best way to secure cables to u-channel. I am thinking about simple pins thru the loops that I can notch to make sure the cable doesn't slide and just lay them in the channel or go with ones the width of the channel and wedges them in to sort of lock it. I actually think this makes more sense and I've got some steel pins I can do this with..
Dustin1300
Don't worry about 80/20 if you already bought the supplies.
