Well, my favorite fish has to go, it looks like he has outgrown the tank. He will get up to speed and splash around, accept tonight he launched himself four feet onto the ground. He is free to a good home, with a cover, and plenty of room to swim. I'm on the south side in Greenwood.

Well I’m getting this bright green algae, can’t seem to ID it.

I will make sure to continue to maroon them.
-
Mean little suckers?
-
I got this frag a long time ago, and I am not sure what type of mushroom it is.
Any clue?
-
Well things are going great!

Thanks to everyone’s advice!
I went with prodibio bio-clean bacteria, and with the algae management, water changes, and 72 hours lights out the tank looks like a future tank of the month.

All taken care of, now I’m a card carrying member of INDMAS again.
-
See I tried that, and I get the message “You are only allowed to purchase one of these items, and you have already done so.”
-
I can't find where to pay and renew my membership, and I would like to.
-
Live phyto I do, what type of “good” bacteria do you dose?
-
Perfect, treatment should be done just in time for frag swap, which is the most important thing. I hoping there is a system to win, so I can just upgrade.😀

Went on vacation, had someone care for the tank, came back to a trifecta of algae, had the hair algae, now I have some red algae and bright green algae. I just can’t win. Going to do tests and a water exchange will report back. What else should I do? Here is a pic: I need a full court press on this.

Well tests came back nitrates 0 phos 0, so my hope is the green hair algae will start to die out as I starve them. Anything else I should be doing to reduce the algae?
-
API, but I'm hoping the Nitrate drop has to do with full rear sump chamber cleaning, new filter media, multiple water changes, reduced (targeted feeding), and daily Red sea NO3/PO4 - X
-
Newest numbers +- change from before
Mag: 1280
Calc: 320. +20
Phos 0 -.25
DKH 8 +2
Nitrate 20 -60
PH 8
Amon 0
Nitirite 0

So will test again this weekend, things seem to be doing better, my corals are really opening up. I do have hair algae showing up, I’m hoping that if I can get my levels to the correct place it will go away.

So had Modern Aquatics run my water
Calcium was 400
DKH was 8.5
Nitrates were 80
so in addition to water changes, he recommended no3 p04 X from red sea
-
So did the test, all water sources going in are 0ppm tank is still bad

Tested salt mix pre water change
DKH: 10 Calc 320
also pulled all filters out, and did not realize how much settling happens in the rear chambers. So I went to town turkey basting

will test again tomorrow, and also try to go by and have Modern Aq... run a test for me
-
I will test my top off water, and do a major clean and water change this weekend
-
What is safe to use to clean the ATO container and salt buckets?
-
I’ll didn’t think of taking it in to have my water tested independently. I’ll do that and report back.
Should I just test the tank water, or also my water change water to ensure it’s not my water source?
-
Test Kit: API
Salt: Red Sea Coral Pro- 3-4 years old
Inhabitants 2x ocellaris clown, Valentin puffer, Flame tail Blenny, various softies, mushrooms, GSP
Salinity 1.025
Temp 78
-
I did, but I’m thinking of change the filters up to a more basic setup:
Chamber L1 Floss -Phosnet
Chamber L2 Skimmer
Chamber R1 Floss - Carbon
Chamber R2 Nano Spheres - replaces Refugium that does not seem to be growing much at all.
-
25 gallon, currently I’m doing 3 gallons weekly, but I can increase for now to help drop it. Yes
