  2. I am in the process of moving my Oceanic 30g Cube from my office to my family room. I don't mind having fish related stuff all over my office, but once it is in my family room I want everything concealed. Therefore I will need a bigger stand than the cube stand. I think the Oceanic Shaker Collection stand would be perfect. It is the same depth as the cube, but it is three feet wide instead of 18 inches or so. The only Oceanic dealer in Lafayette that I know of is Petsmart and they don't have one in stock, nor are the particularly helpful. Does anyone know of a dealer that might carry or be willing to order the stand for me? Please let me know. Also, if anyone has any experience with such a stand, please describe your experience with it. I basically just need it to hide a small 10g custom acrylic sump (thanks Russ!) and a 5g bucket with an auto-topoff pump. Thanks!
  3. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.p...815#post7118815 I just put this up on reefcentral. Please check it out as I could really use your advice. Thanks.
  4. Horton do you have any pics of your hammers and frogspawn? I am interested in getting a frogspawn or hammer for my tank. And the bigger the better!
  5. Well, I just tested my calcium level and it is pretty low (275 ppm). So I am going to have to start adding kalkwasser in order to keep my future LPS corals happy. Does anyone know of a local place to get pickling lime? I have heard that Mrs. Wages is the best, but any ought to do. In addition, if anyone would like to share their experiences with dosing kalk water, please feel free to share. Thanks
  6. Yeah, the tank had lots of coraline on the back too, until the move. Then it all died when the tank was empty. I don't know how the coraline on the overflow survived. Technical specs: Oceanic 30g cube 10g acylic sump Mag 7 return pump Maxijet 900 powerhead AquaC Urchin (w/ Maxijet 1200) protein skimmer. 96W Coralife Quad Bulb PC fixture. 40 lbs of Fiji live rock 20 lbs of Aragonite sand Live sand, rock, rubble in sump as a refugium with chaeto and grape calurpa. 5 Astrea, 5 cerith, 5 nerite, 5 nassarius snails. 2 peppermint and one skunk cleaner shrimp. The fish are all visible above. I am considering adding either a tomato or onyx perc clown as well as several different LPS corals (Frag swap anyone? Hint! Hint!).
  7. I've had this tank (my first) for about six months and after some catastrophes and a move it is time to unveil it. Here is the tank as a whole: And here are the inhabitants: A Flame Angel I just picked up from Premium this weekend Yellow Clown Goby Green Chromis A truly gigantic cleaner shrimp (I think his antennae are over 6" long each) A Fungia Plate Coral (also from Premium this weekend) And some thriving Green Star Polyps I'll try to get a better picture of the angel but he appears to be very camera shy so far and I am not a very good photographer.
  8. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=805019 It appears that the Euro-Reef saga has come to a happy (albeit long and drawn out) ending.
  9. Do any of you have any comments on glasscages.com's stand and hoods? The unstained oak ones look pretty nice.
  10. 210 feet down seems awfully deep for recreational diving. As I recall from my PADI training the maximum depth for recreational divers is 130-140 ft. And even then, you could only stay at that depth for less than 10 minutes. Still pretty neat though.
  11. I ordered some rics, an orange ocellaris, and a black and white ocellaris from liveaquaria in December. None are alive today. The rics died within the first week, the black and white clown died 8 days later, and the orange clown died 3 days after that. I was refunded all my money (less the $30 shipping). I will not be purchasing any more fish or corals from them. Or from any other online store, for that matter. I did acclimate them properly and my tank parameters were fine.
  12. I will be there. I'm a new member looking to populate a very sparse 30g Oceanic cube. I hope to get some LPS: Frogspawn, Torch or Hammer (Euphyllia) Short tentacled plate (Fungia) Open brain (Trachyphyllia) As well as maybe a montipora digitata. I doubt I can fit all that in my tank, but I will get as much as I can. I look forward to meeting many of you there.
