  1. The time has come for us all to set our smart phones for the best day in reefing around! The 2018 INDMAS Annual Frag Swap is just around the corner and scheduled for March 17th, 2018. And we are in a new location for the St. Patrick frag action just 18 miles from downtown Indy...in Danville! If you think last year was action packed…you don’t want to miss the NEW, larger venue. This year we have added a speaker before the event, will have 2 food trucks, and have plans for even cooler raffles! Our vendors and hobbyists will have tons of corals for you to shop for from 12pm to 4pm. Wear something green and get a door prize...while supplies last! More information will be posted shortly regarding the volunteers needed, tables for vendors and hobbyists that have booked, a frag swap FAQ, and more! Tentative Schedule for the day is as follows: 10am: Pre-registration for Speaker & Event 10:30am – 11:30am: Speaker Presentation 11:30am: Early entry into Swap for Speaker Attendees 12pm to 4pm: 2018 INDMAS Frag Swap Set your calendars, and start the list of corals you must have for 2018!
  2. It is that time of year again, where the baseball games and outdoor activities come to a halt...and we begin to plan our holidays out with our families and friends. Well don't forget to schedule in one of the most fun INDMAS events of the year! Set your reminders and alerts...as it is time to meet at Bill's house to gawk at his 12 foot long In Wall Reef tank and talk reef for a few hours to wrap up this great year for the club. We hope to see you all at the year end INDMAS Holiday Party. Check out the events and details below!! When: Saturday, 12/09/2017, 4pm - 6pm Where: TYRYFIN (Bill F's house) Northwest Side of Indy - 7619 Dartmouth Road, Indianapolis, 46260 Topic of discussion: Whatever we want! It is the holidays and this meeting is reserved for getting to know each other and building friendships. Bring water sample of your tank to test with the INDMAS provided test kits! What to know: This is a pitch in meeting. The club will provide main dish like subs or sandwiches, but sides and desserts are VERY welcome. We ask for one dish per family attending. Also, there will be a gift exchange. Bring a gift and you will get a gift in return! In the past we have done a white elephant style exchange and will continue the tradition again at Bill's. This is a fun game and hope we some some thoughtful reefing gifts this year! Please keep gifts to a $25 maximum amount. Remember, this is an aquarium club, so the saltier, the better. Please sign up here, https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdhVFLn9QoZXaf-GTU82lrbyrUqRtICPgSw96-pFs7VN9B7hw/viewform?usp=send_form, for the pitch in and gift exchange. And don't forget to respond to this thread as well so we know how many people are going to make it! December 2017 Raffle items: AquaKnight 30w Cree nano LED Vertex Somatic media Reactor ICP Water Test Analysis Kit (2x) $25 gift Certificates to Central Indy Aquatics (1x) Coral - donated by Central Indy Aquatics
  3. Time flies! Are you guys ready for the social? I am. I've missed most of the meets this year unfortunately due to work. If you've never been we typically have a large turnout and it's a great way to meet just about everyone all at once. There will be food provided by the club (Burgers, dogs, drinks, etc) This is a pitch-in as well do ask that anyone that can please bring a side of some sort. Have a special mac n cheese? Cheesecake you're famous for at the bake sales? Brownies so good they would make a grown man cry? Bring them and anything else you think that's great too! I'll post a signup sheet link here shortly so we can have an idea what's coming and try not to have 14 pecan pies strew across the kitchen. Dustin usually has an awesome buffalo chicken chip dip he makes. Don't even think about trying to one up that. You'll have anarchy on your hands... Down to the business. As in years past we will be at Amanda's (Mrsbugsmaster)'s house. She's just North of 96th street on Towne Rd, just minutes away off 465. We'll have games for the kids, cornhole, music, and weather permitting a saltwater pool and a basketball court. There's plenty of space for everyone so bring the family and anyone you're trying to get hooked into a reef tank. You'll get to check out a well stocked 180 gallon FOWLR and a rimless Solana mixed reef with awesome colors. Let's show everyone why INDMAS is the best. We'll see you all there! When: Saturday, June 11 Time: 4pm Where: 9710 Towne Rd. Carmel, IN 46032 Map: https://www.google.com/maps/place/9710+Towne+Rd,+Carmel,+IN+46032/@39.929585,-86.2041667,123m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x8814ab3a823bd71f:0x93e1875cb3f3c8ca!8m2!3d39.929644!4d-86.203519 Please RSVP in the form below: http://goo.gl/forms/pbAjIzrUiQzjT83h1 To view signup sheet click below: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1auPfdf7kRlmVqNR5qGOOP4XBucOAbGUWtEi2bX3gq0Y/edit?usp=sharing
  4. I cant believe it is almost time for the best frag swap around already!! Start saving your pennies and making your lists of what corals you are missing for your reef! If you came to the frag swap last year or particpated in the "free frag for a new member" program last year, you know that it was a big success!! We gained around 40 new members and had 8 renewals!! SOOOOO...we are going to do this program again!! BUT, we are going to have a seperate raffle item for those of you who donate!! This will be a cool item that any of us would want to add to our system!! Here are the rules this year... 1) Please bring your frag on a frag plug of some kind and in a specimen cup (if possible). If that is not possible, we are going to try to provide those at the entry table. If you do have a specimen cup, label it with what coral it is and "LPS, SPS, etc)...or we will do so on the cup that we provide. 2) Keep the frag in a cooler if possible until you turn them in to me or another staff member at the entry (please arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before the swap for this). We need to keep these warm as long as possible since they will be sitting on a table for a couple of hours! 3) Each person may donate up to 4 corals...getting one ticket for each coral donated for the membership drive. (I will start this off with 2 coral donations....so up to 48 total now needed for the goal). 4) Any coral not given away to the new member will go back in the raffle for those who participated in this program to win. If anyone has any macro algae to donate in doubled plastic bags...that seemed to go over well last year with new members. This donation will not qualify for a ticket in the seperate raffle, but will be much appreciated!!! Thank you so much in advance for your participation in this!! This went over very well last year...and we are hoping to at least gain 25 new members this year!! Please note on this thread how many, and what kind of coral please so that there are not a bunch of duplicates. Any coral works, just no NPS please!!
