  1. sorry guys its taking me a little longer to get the tank up and running because my brothers power was cut off for a day and i did not know about it and all my fish died. im just having bad luck with haveing my tank sit at my brothers house. im gonna give my corals a couple weeks to recope before i move them and cause more unneeded stress. im gonna get her back up and running and this time she will stay in daddys care for good.
  2. And I will work for coral, fish, and equipment so let me know.
  3. Anybody have a big LCD or Plasma they want to take off the tv stand and put it on the wall where it belongs. You can save hundreds off what most big companies charge and get the same pro install they offer. I can hang them above fire places and hide the wires. I can also help with all you speaker needs. Send me a im for your free quote. Placeing the tv on the wall will free up more space in your living room and looks so much better and bigger than it does on the tv stand.
  4. The algea is probally cyano. Is it red? If you can keep the pico alive then you will not have a problem with a bigger tank.
  5. Sorry I didnt really know where to place this. I though that I could help some members out with their A/V needs.
  6. Good luck with the pico. I would be scared to set one up because of the small margin of error that 3 gallons gives you. What FISH are you gonna put in it? When are you planning on setting up the 37g? Is the fuge on the pico built into the back I've never seen one.
  7. Any one that needs a tv hung on the wall or above a fire place let me know. I have been hanging televisions for the past six years. I have a buisness Cable Contractor LLC and my buisness is insured up to two million dallars. Send me a im if you want me to come look at what you need to have done and give you a quote. I will under cut all of the big buisnesses like HHgregg and Best Buy. I can get the wall mounts cheaper through a whole saler that I use. If you need any wires hidden in the wall I can fish lines through your attic or crawl space. I know its tax time and the prices of the new 3D televisions are coming out so let me know. I can hang any plasma or LED LCD on the market.
  8. i just sprayed the back of my 120g and it matches my stand. there is a night and day difference in the over all look of the display. ill post some picks when i get all the build pics togeather. im going to build the display and post them all at once. if you can do it do it.
  9. Im ready for the raffle and I will win this year... Only 11 more weeks to save up and grow some frags.
  10. Did you paint the back of the tank? I just finished spray painting the back of my 120g and repainted the stand last night. I cant wait to get my tank back up the stand and tank look brand new again. I want to predrill the back of the glas but I dont know if the glass is tempered and I dont know how to do it. Painting the back of the glass was the best thing I could of done with this setup it looks awesome now.
  11. Are you using dry rock or was that live rock? I believe live rock is the best filtration any reef tank can have. Depending on your equipment and knowledge I think the whole cycling the tank thing is over rated unless you are new to the hobby. The better the equipment and the use of plenty of live rock and good water movement your good to go. Tank looks good. Is your tank drilled and do you have any other power heads in the tank? Are you running a fuge? What are your future plans on live stock?
  12. Cut back on the number of hours the halides are on and slowly add time to them over the next few weeks. If you are just adding halides to the tank I would keep the t5 as a suppliment lighting. Place the halides at a height that the water cant splash onto the bulbs for they can explode and you will have a nice mess on your hands. If you dont want to bake your corals go with a higher color temp halide bulb and use the white t5 bulbs.
  13. I know the bottom of most tanks are tempered. How do I find out if the back of my tank is tempered? What do you think about running a closed loop and a fuge at the same time? Can you run sea swirls inside a bulk head in a closed loop? Also does anybody have a 5ft halide fixture they would be willing to trade for a 4ft coralife aqualight pro with 2 150w hqi and 2 96w pc fixture? The only down fall to my system is the light because I have 6 inches on each side of the tank that is barely lit up but they do work pretty well for the rest of the tank. My mp20 is broke so im going to be running a mp40w and a korilla 3 with a canister filter and the return pump for flow. Im using 2 single over flow boxes positioned in the center of the tank for drains and 2 rio 3100 for return pumps. Modded Vertex 180 skimmer and a PM calcium reactor with 2.5 mm KORALlith calcium media. Does anybody know what Vortech charges to fix a pump? I have to buy new sand so I dont know if I should use dry sand or live sand.
  14. Ok I have been out of the hobby for several months. Well not quite all of my corals and fish have been at my brothers house in my 75g tank and they have been kind of neglected. I moved into my new apartment on the south side of indianapolis by greenwood a couple months ago and I wanted to set up my set up right this time. I am about to spray paint the back of my 120g 5ft tank and the stand black. I have 250lbs of live rock and half of it is in the running tank and the other half was left in my 120 and I had to bleach the rock. I am really excited about setting it up this time because I have wanted to re spray paint the stand and the back of the glass for a while but the tank was set up and i couldnt. I plan on setting up my calcium reactor but i will need some help with doing this if anybody knows how and lives on the south side of the city and would like to help. I am excited about painting the back side of the glass but am curious if this is worth the extra work. Im going to use a gloss black and I need to know if this will help reflect the light off the back of the glass twards my corals. Its been a while since the last time I checked up on my corals but sadly I know I lost a bunch of my corals and my brothers 3 year old pulled my vortech mp20 dry side off the glass and it seems to have burnt up one of my pumps and I dont know if any of you know how to fix the pump. I will post a tank build on the picture forum in the next few weeks to come. I have spent a lot of money and put a lot of time into my system and Im excited to share this build with every body because I never showed you guys my builds. If anybody has any ideals of what I can do to make this setup nicer prier to setting up please let me know and I will take all ideals into considerations. Does anybody know how to drill bulk heads into the back of the glass? I might run a sump and a closed loop system tell me what you guys think about this. Thank you for all the help you have given me in the past and I hope to give and recieve valuble information for the years to come.
  15. Nice setup would recommend getting rid of the hippo tang. This fish will get big real big.
  16. I bet you would agree with me on getting a couple vortech mp40w to take care of water movement. How old is your system?
  17. Good call on washing your hands before you put your hand in the tank.
  18. Good call on washing your hands before you put your hand in the tank.
  19. I like large pieces. I will usually buy rock and bleach it out or buy dryed rock and seed it myself. Seems to be the cheapest route.
  20. That's kind of sad, they could make a lot more than a hundred off us. That is actually very cheap advertising. We have like 1100 plus members. I'm no expert, but that is about as cheap as advertising can get. I hurt liveaquaria is ranked in the top 5 online businesses in the world. That's all businesses not just marine businesses.
  21. Paul have you frag those acans, I need a frag of those, their pretty beast.
  22. I don't know what I would do with out premium. Liveaquaria told me they hold the fish for a month before they sell them to make sure they are eating well. Has anybody else had any experiences with them.
  23. This is not about premium, this thread is about trying to get a good sponcer. Most places can't beat premium but that's besides the point. I also have to constantly pull off nudibranc off my large collection of montipora, a matter of fact I lost a 300 colony of superman monti. Other than this I do love being able to get my seachem salt pretty cheap. Inland is also great to have here in Indiana.
  24. Paul those are nice acans, any growth or is that the size of the colony you got
