  1. As far as I know there aren't any feather dusters that are bad for a tank. If they are little tube looking things coming out f your live rock, I would consider that a good sign that your tank is coming along.
  2. I would be looking at the test kit if you added that much and your MG levels didn't change. There is a lot of talk about the Elos, MG test kits on reef central under the Elos thread in the sponsors section. I would look there first and if you dont get your answer direct your questions to Jesse, he seems to know the elos products in and out. Sorry I dont have your answer but that is a great place to do some research. Paul
  3. Since I am thinking of going T5 on the rimless tank I'm setting up, I'm going to need some more details on this? The Shimmer?
  4. I agree with hooked, t5's all the way. Check out the tek light on premiums website. If you do go with the metal halides, dont get the SunPod, I have one and not having the actinics really sucks.
  5. You sure? Your tank is awesome. I appreciate all of the wonderful frags that you provided me with. If you haven't been down to the Atterberry range, it is very nice now. i remember when you used to just back your car up and shoot over an empty field.
  6. Judgeing by the thread you have on the tank, I think you might get some people to make the trip.
  7. Speaking of yellow tangs. I was in a store a couple of months ago and saw a pretty yellow tang that was looking pretty bad. It had a bit of a parasite problem. I felt bad and bought it, treated it and nursed it back to health. So I guess what I'm getting at is that I have a yellow tang that I would like to sell to someone that has a tank large enough for it. It has basically been QT in my frag tank for 3 months and I am only looking to get the 40 dollars back that I paid for it. Interested?
  8. Depends what you want? I would be happy to send you home with some quality frags. [email protected] If you are looking for fish, the Abyss is the best that I have found.
  9. This was my first swap too, and I was thrilled. I just wish that it was a more common occurance! Thanks everyone.
  10. Will we need to bring our own tables and chairs?
  11. I'll take a frag of the ORA German Blue Polyp Digitata.
  12. What are you guys going to do as far as set ups at the frag swap, to house your frags of course?
  13. I will have purple and neon green montipora cap's. Kenya trees, birds nest, maybe some candy canes and frogspawn.
  14. Have you tryed a natural solution to the Ich? I have found that since I added my cleaner shrimp I havent had any Ich problems. Just a thought.
  15. It kept falling out of its spot up higher so I had it down on the sand for a couple of days. I moved it back up last night.
  16. Ok I have a generanl question about LPS. When it all of a sudden loses its color after doing well for over a year, what would be the first thing you would think is causing the problem. I have other hammer, torch that are all doing really well.
  17. "They support puppy mills, since I'm not in approval of them I don't feel that buying other things there is a good idea." Not to be a devils advocate but how do we know that they support puppy mills. Rarely I look at the puppies, but the ones I have seen have all been from local breeders. Seem like backyard breeders, not puppy mills. And they always have a bunch of mixed breeds. As far as saltwater. I will buy coral if they look healthy but not fish. They always look like Sh!t to me there.
  18. So I am thinking of putting together a frag tank. I want to know what equipment you think I need to run this thing. I have seen so many differant set ups for frag tanks that it makes me wonder if they just need light, circulation and time. Would t5 lighting, hob filter, and circulation pumps be enough?
  19. Why when I send or reply to a PM would the reply go into the outbox and not the sent messages? If its in the outbox have they received it?
  20. Yes save yourself the headache and get it drilled. When I had my 72 set up, I had a big Essops reef sump. Skimmer, heater, and carbon down there. I had an external return pump and that made it a very clean looking tank. I had 2 extra power heads in the tank, t5 lighting and that was it. I went the other way and just downsized. If you can keep a 12 then you'll be fine with a 75, just bigger water changes and tons more room for scaping.
