  1. Ive had a few that have done this, but usually its been caused by some sort of trauma. Ive had to pull one off a rock and it ripped and left a small quarter sized piece of foot. 2 months later its started to sprout tenticals. Very cool if yours did it naturally!!!!
  2. Im a general contractor and I was approached this week about turning a old Dialysis center into a mental health and consoling center. If i get the job ill basically be tearing out all the old Dialysis equipment. Its pretty impressive stuff and I was wondering if the Ro systems might be worth something to someone in the hobby. Also a TON of schedule 80 ball valves and left over parts! =) Im not asking what anyone would give $$$, just wondering if it would work for a saltwater tank?
  3. I will be there when the doors open on Saturday morning to help setup. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  4. I've not hear back from the guy yet.... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  5. oops that picture is deceiving!! those are just empty canisters that are sitting on top of the tank. Here is a picture of the sump underneath the tank I offered the guy 500 dollars for the whole thing. I know its kinda a low offer, but the tank needs ALOT of work to get the scratches out (if they come out)
  6. Over my 220g (72x24x30) I currently have 3 Reefbreeder photon 24". I have come across a deal to get 2 Kessil 360 and a Apex Neptune controller. Ive always been pretty happy with the Reefbreeders but i know there are better lights out there so im thinking about my other options. I can just keep the 3 reefbreeders photons and supliment them with the 2 kessils. I can sell the reefbreeders photons and try to buy 2 more Kessil 360s for a total of 4 over the 220. I can try to sell all 3 Reefbreeders and 2 Kessil 360s and get another light such as 3 of the Al Hydras. This tank is not my final tank also. My wife and I are looking for land to build a new home in the next 3 years. In the new house I want a 8'x4'x28" Peninsula tank. So i want to take this into account that I can use the lights down the road for this tank. Tank is mixed LPS and SPS.

  9. I got a call last night from a guy who is buying a new house near me. The house came with a nice Saltwater Reef tank. Although the guy thinks its pretty, he has no interest in keeping it up. he wants me to come by and either give him a offer on the tank or help him to sell it. Im thinking its atleast a 4ft tank maybe 6ft. I was told it has a "computer" and the original owner spent 25000 on the system. (we all know how fast u can spend 25g) I know it has an anemone and coral. The house if very nice and sold for over half a million in a rural area. Im not sure how to go about offering the guy money. He has 0 experience with fish tanks. What are full setups running these days? Im not in the market for a tank myself so im probably going to be parting it out and just taking the stuff that I really want for myself. Depending on what the guy has, is offering 500 maybe a little more seem out of line? I dont wana take advantage of the guy, but i gotta make it worth my while. Picture i found on Realtor website
  10. Thanks Jeremy, Ill talk to you about it when i pick up those fish!
  11. Very very cool! Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  12. Atleast you found it now and not a few years from now like I did with a flame angel.
  13. To alot of people (myself included), the building of the tank is as enjoyable as having the tank after its built. Also the Reefer 350 is $1700 just for the system. If you wait and check these boards often, you will find a fully setup tank liverock coral and all for less $$$$ than that.
  14. I looked up the White Avelopora and while im not 100% sure that its is one. Im leaning that way.
  15. He has had it for 6 months. It was his first coral and its not changed color at all. His tank is only 8 months old (75g). He is very meticulous with 15% weekly water changes. I think its bleached. He had it under compact florescent light until last week. Now under Leds, i wonder if it will change.
  16. I have a buddy who is just getting into the hobby. He was sold this from uncle bills as "white" and cant remember the name. Anyone have any clue. Im scepitcal about white corals as everyone ive seen is bleached.
  17. So I need some help setting up my calcium reactor. Ive had it for 2 years but I get scared every time i start to think about setting it up. I want it to be pretty self sustaining and keep me from loosing corals when im lazy! I would really love for someone to come out to my place and make sure im doing everything correct/make sure i have all the right equipment. I live in Rushville, 1 hour SE of Indy. Im happy to pay for gas and Give frags. Im gonna be gone next week to the florida keys diving, but maybe sometime after that. Tank specs http://indmas.org/main/index.php/topic/13198-rosss-225g-with-fish-room/page-4 Thanks!!! Ross
  18. Its been a while since i updated. Had a great summer and went on 3 major vacations (Italy, Denver, Florida). Unfortunately my tank suffered because of this. I really let it get away from me and i lost a few of the nice corals i got last year at the swap. Im also expecting my first child in 2 months So im expecting to be at home alot more. I hope this helps me keep up with tank maintenance. Im Reworking my fish room to add a 40gal Anemone grow out tank. I had my frag tank set up in half, one for anemones, one for frags, but The frags are outgrowing their half. The 40 gal is separated into 3 sections and I plan on having a different bubble tip in each section (Red, Green, and ? Yellow) Pictures will come soon once i get it plumbed in today. I cleaned The whole tank yesterday and reworked the frag tank. Because I will have more room in the frag tank im going to try a growout system as much as just frags. I have boxes of 3x6 subway tiles left over from a few tile jobs. I let 20 of them cure over the last few weeks and ive glued all my Zoa, Xenia, Encrusting monties, Clove polyp, and GSP to the Tiles. I hope this will make for easy cutting either removing them from the tiles, or just cutting the tiles with my tile saw (in the case of the encrusting monties) Lastly I got a Carpet anemone for my main tank. hopefully the clownfish start hosting it soon
  19. I havent lit a match, but it was very hot to my hand from 6" away. After it got hot i got scared and didnt try it again. I even tried aiptasia very close to the glass and nothing happened.
  20. i got the laser in today and it doesnt do anything....waste of money.
  21. http://saltcritters.com/thick-coral-glue-1lb/ Ive not tried it yet, but ive only heard good things about this stuff.
  22. very cool. Ill definitively be doing this in my next tank.
  23. All the articles ive read say that they are the same thing as a lawnmower blenny. Is this true?
