  1. Sup Chevy? Good to see you back!
  2. Thanks Michael! That was some sweet looking chaeto! You Rock! Again thanks! Tim
  3. I've heard rumors that you got a new tank. How big did you go? Any pics?
  4. Not ready to fire up the calcium reactor yet as my calcium demand isn't big. I do want to start adding calcium but I have always relied on the reactor in the past. What are you guys using for calcium and alkalinity and where do you get it?
  5. Ahem, that should read Colts!
  6. What do you guys think about the return flow. I'm kind of leaning towards the Panworld 200 powering a couple eductors. I don't think the Hammerhead has enough head pressure to power a couple eductors.
  7. I'm anxious to hear more about this! Isn't he the guy who built and maintains Atlantis Marine World?
  8. That's kind of what I was thinking. It would be easier to integrate the waveboxes into the tank before I apply the epoxy. If down the road I decided I don't like them, I could always turn them into pod havens filled with chaeto.
  9. Hmm, interesting idea. Would they work on a plywood tank that is almost an inch thick?
  10. As a few of you know (but most don't) I've been slowly building, tearing down, rebuilding my fishroom. In the process I've also been working on a 96x48x32 650 gallon plywood tank. Well, the fishroom is pretty much done and the tank is ready for the epoxy. I figured I'd better get some input on a couple things. Returns - I have several options. Panworld 200 ps powering eductors Reeflo Hammerhead returning thru 4 Sea Swirls Reeflo Dart x 2 returning thru 4 Sea Swirls Which option do you guys like? Or is there a better option? Flow in the tank- Closed loop w/Panworld 200/eductors Closed loop w/Reeflo Hammerhead/Sea Swirls Closed loop w/Reeflo Darts/Sea Swirls Wave boxes built into each end of the tank Tunze Streams attached to the Sea Swirls Which option(s) do you like? Or is there a better option? Awaiting your responses Tim
  11. I had one in my 265 years ago. Very coolfish, lots of personality. Sadly he jumped. Cover the tank if you can. Tim
  12. BTW, Coralhead317 was one of the 6 people who founded the Indiana Marine Aquarium Society (INDMAS) back in '02 or '03 one late night in my office at the old PA warehouse. I believe it was 7 but who's counting!
  13. -265 gallon poly tanks... I think I need to downsize though.
  14. Yes it's from Air Water and Ice. I haven't had any issues with their customer service. I hooked it up and it started making water... no issues to call customer service about. I'll keep you posted if I come across any issues with the unit or customer service.
  15. I ended up going with the Extereme Typhoon III. Works great so far, I had to add a booster pump though. Now if I could just get the storage tank to stop leaking!
  16. Thanks Scott I checked out both of those and they seem to be a little more pricey than most of the others, BUT I'm not TOO worried about the budget. (don't tell my wife) I look at it as an investment in my tank. With that said, I just want to get something that has everything I need and nothing that I don't. I've been doing some research online and I'd love to get a Merlin but by the time you get done with the add ons, I'd probably spend over $600. Granted they make about 750 gpd but I don't REALLY need that much water in a days time! So right now I'm leaning towards an Extreme Typhoon 3. 150 gpd with everything that I want and reasonably priced. Anybody use one of these? Thanks for your time! Tim
  17. Here's what I've got Well water, lots of iron. Low water pressure-planning on a booster pump. 2-265 storage tanks to keep full Total system volume is about 1200 gallons
  18. I was hoping a team of elves would come over and finish the tank. No such luck though!
