  1. Man I remember this tank! I got out, then back in, then upgraded three times during the span of your tank! Glad you are staying in the hobby!
  2. Five gallon buckets, easier to handle to me. I would only keep half of the old water. Then have some new mixed up and ready at the new location.
  3. Brad still around? Seems their facebook page is no longer up. I hope so he had great stuff. Matt
  4. None, purely aesthetic. Using a light timer would work fine.
  5. I was openly critical of the higher end lighting choices such as the Radions. I have since upgraded to a deep dimension take where I need the spread of the G4 radions mated with the 24" wide aquatic life T5 hybrid fixture. I cannot even describe the difference in the coloration of the corals, now this was the same coral from my 60 cube now in a 200 gallon plus system so there are a lot of variables. However, these are quality units that have in my opinion really upgraded the lighting quality in my tank. With the T5's here is far less shading and much to my surprise to still get a slight shimmer. I "hotwired" the AL fixture to where I can switch on the two inside or two outside lights, stock setup is the two front or rear bulbs on/off. In this way I can turn on the two outside actinic bulbs on a half hour before and after the radions turn on. Then turn on the coral plus about an hour or so and then ramp the radions up/down throughout the day. AL does now make a dimmable fixture but it is considerably more than the standard fixture and as of two months ago only came in a 12" width. The rewiring of the fixture was not difficult but does void the manufacturers warranty. I followed a youtube tutorial on how to rewire the fixtures. I will link tonight after I get home from work.
  6. I remember talking with you and Jeremy about this! Stumbled across this thread this morning. CRAZY!
  7. I would like to renew but I have an expired order in my cart. In the past it auto renewed but i guess that stopped.
  8. Yeah had very little bubbles as well. I may do the same with the 16 as well. I rounded the top edge over with a router then flame polished all the edges. I sanded all the pieces with 220 grit to smooth out the cut marks. Thanks Guys!
  9. I didn't I let the acrylic cement wick between the pieces. I haven't done any water testing yet and have Weld On 16 at the ready.
  10. So I was not too happy on the pricing of sumps or their design. I went ahead and designed my own. I was limited on width as all my plumbing is in a closet under the stairs. So I made a 48"L x 12"W x 18"H sump. It was made with black and clear acrylic bought from Auburn Plastics here in Indy, much cheaper than Meyer Plastics. Here are a few pictures: The second picture shows where the filter socks are placed. I drilled and tapped the plate to make it removable for cleaning. The plate on top with the protective film still on it will have two bulkheads with each draining into a 4" filter sock. I did add an acrylic plate for the float switches to attach to for top off that isn't pictured. I am also going to be placing inputs for calcium reactor and topoff lines into the top brace. Not completely finished but very close. I got to make the bracket for the probes as well.
  11. I have to give that a try! For hanging the frame, I used galvanized pipe with flanges drilled into the wall. Then made a simple wood frame to hide the pipe. I will post a picture tonight.
  12. The reason I am dedicated to LED is you adjust the color to your liking without buying bulbs. Plus remember that heat is not constant like a heater, it is there when the lights are on. My temp does vary by more than one degree. Another thing I hate is replacing bulbs, remembering to do a water change is tough replacing bulbs is challenging for me. I am contemplating doing a hybrid T5/led setup on a new tank I am setting up.
  13. Ha! I got a sweet deal on a commercial kegerator from my brothers neighbor. Makes homebrewing much easier! Neighbors came through, so got it covered.
  14. Just need some help loading and unloading a 200 gallon fish tank. Needing 3 people this Saturday morning. I have a kegerator with five different types of beer, bring your growlers! Matt 317-501-5911
  15. Most corals have their feeder tentacles extend at night. Definitely cool!
  16. Definitely bleached, I would try feeding gonipower to see if it helps.
  17. Man I am out of town, I could have rushed over. I got some BRS calcium supplement and good salifert test kits. I will be home Sunday afternoon/early evening.
