  1. So on day 5 of my LED upgrade. Blue at 25% and Whites at 12%. Everything but the RBTA is looking good so far. RBTA went on the move an hour after the install. Has now moved to back corner and is staying pretty much hidden. Any thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Are you sure it's not just a black tang with really bad ich??? J/k. Awesome pick up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Some additional info for anyone wondering: Tank is 16" deep. Light is 7" above the water using leg mounts. Tank is stocked with mostly LPS, some Zoas and a RBTA. Nem moved within an hour of placing new light. To play it safe I set it to 20% blue and 2% white yesterday after setup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I picked up a gently used OceanRevive T247. Wondering what percentages I should start out with on my 24 gallon Aquapod. It is sitting on the supplied mounting legs on the tank. Previously had a 70w MH (20k xm) and 3 x T5 14w Slimpaqs (460nm actinics). Any thoughts on a starting spot and ramp up plan? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I know someone who is selling a new/open boxed OceanRevive for the $165. I also recently ran across a AI Prime HD for close to that same price. I really like the features available on the Prime, but I'm thinking the 45w is a little low?? Thoughts on the Prime? Other used ones I've been looking at include the Kessils. 6. Thinking of converting over to LED's. My tank is a 24g Aquapod which I currently have a 70w MH (20k XM) and a couple of cheap Actinic T5's on chilling on top as well. Looking to spend >$200 and new or used is fine. Options I have seen in my budget: New OceanRevive T-246b - $165 shipped. Used Photon 16 v.1 - $150 shipped. Looking for suggestions, experiences, other options, etc. Mike Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I will try get some pics up later if it helps, but here is the story. I've had this nice green goni I picked up from Modern Aquatix in early Jan. Had been doing great, slowly growing and found a good spot in the tank where it was usually open and extended with the exception of an annoying snail/crab. Tank is a 24g aquapod with 70w Metal Halide and 3-14w actinic T5's. Goni was probably 3-4inches up from the bottom in the rock work. Funny thing is right next to anout an inch lower is a pink goni thats doing great, and just below that on the sand is a green Alveopora that is doing great. I have had some cyanobacteria issue in the sand lately and have subsequently cut back on feedings and phyto feeding. I moved water changes from 25% every 3 weeks to 25% every two weeks, as well as vacuuming out the cyano during the water changes. I currently run skimmerless, mechanical sponge filtration changed weekly, and carbon/gfo in filter bag. The only change that has been made is i've changed the flow a bit and increased my GFO. I added three tablespoons of GFO for a total of 6, changed with the water. The tank is modded with two MJ1200 in back for return and Koralia Nano in the tank. I recently added a Jeabo PP4 as well but can't recall if it was closed prior to it addition. I pulled the goni and tried and isolated feeding of Phyto and Cyclopeeze, but didn't seem to help. When I put it back in the tank I moved it to the sand bed and in a low flow area of the tank. Just don't understand how just the one is affected with all being really close together and happening so quickly it seems. Thoughts??? Questions???
  8. Sorry late getting back, but if you could move me from "pre-swap" to either of the "during the swap" shifts that would awesome! Most likely will bring a tag along to help with me as well! Doesn't matter to me what time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Depending on your need still, I could do Saturday morning pre-swap most likely. "L" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Well it only took six days after adding the Nem for the female to finally start using it as a host. She hasn't quite let the male have the run of her house yet.
  11. Well I'm only adding one wrasse so that should make it easier, and it will be the last thing added after I get a goby. I had a Halichoeres margaritaceus in a previous tank and it did very well. I also seen a Halichoeres hortulanus (checkerboard) locally, but I heard they can be problematic with some shrimp and feather dusters. I will check out the ones you mentioned as well Brandon.
  12. I think I skimmed that article before. Probably best to avoid unless I could find someone with a well established healthy one they are letting go. Any other thoughts on a small, reef safe wrasse. I love my inverts so it needs to play nicely. Maybe something in the Halichoeres family??
  13. I've been thinking of adding a Leopard Wrasse. Not settled in on a specific one yet. I know a lot of them come in with worm issues and I currently do not have a QT or room to put up a QT. What are your experiences with getting and keeping one?
  14. Would love to see some pics of what you guys all received! Seems like really reasonable pricing!
  15. Well we have water, sand, and a little bit of base rock in. Give it a month or so and I should be about ready for fish. So looking for fish suggestions. Here are my first thoughts, I'm a sucker for symbiotic relationships: Goby/pistol combo Clown/nem combo Wrasse Possible firefish Goby I'm thinking Orange Stripe Prawn Goby Clown I'm thinking Ocelaris or Percula, most likely Ocelaris for tank raised/health Wrasse was think of a a Halichores sp. If I did a firefish was considering an Exquisite (Nemateleotris exquisita) Thoughts, suggestions, other possibilities? This will be reef tank with mostly LPS and Zoas Thanks for the input.
