  1. That's great.... If you're ever interested in selling a couple of them I'd take them.
  2. I know that area well. I grew up in Seymour but live in Bloomington now. A good LFS is hard to come by in this area!
  3. Can I ask where are you located?
  4. Welcome to the club! Looks like you have a great tank in the works... I want to know how you stayed with a 55 so long. I only lasted a couple of years before I had the itch to go bigger.
  5. If your willing to go a little over $100 the ER-80 promo is a really nice skimmer for the price. I think it about $170. Are you wanting a HOB or in-sump?
  6. I would not recommend a SCWD. It reduces output by 40% and has a high failure rate. I had one for about 6 months before it died. If want to use your closed loop you might want to look at an oceans motions squirt. I used one for 2 years and was great. I decided to get away from plumbing and got two tunze 6000's with a mulitcontroller. Maybe not the most cost effective but they use very little power ( 15w) and put out 1180gph each.
  7. Yeah that can't be good! Looks like Cyberasker is a notorious hacker. Hopefully our personal info is safe and not easily accessible.
  8. We were lucky and didn't lose power at my house. After that scare I'm going to invest in a generator or DIY a battery/inverter to keep things running. I can't afford to lose all my livestock now. I read that there are still 1500 households without power still!

    It's a BOY

Hey everyone, My wife and I have added a new little reefer to our household. Jackson was born on Saturday and got home just before the snow came Now I just have to talk her into letting me put a nano in the nursery.
  10. I've converted my Sedra pump on my ER 6-1 to mesh and it's made a huge difference in bubble size. I don't have an air meter so I do know how much it's pulling in but it's for sure better than the stock needlewheel. I also have a gen-x on my ER 80 and I'm thinking about switching it over also.
  11. Welcome bstoner, I'm originally from Seymour and most of my family is still there so I know North Veron well.
  12. Glad those lights worked out for you! My wife wouldn't let me put a tank in the nursery.
  13. One idea that I've seen in the past is having drawing throughout the swap but saving the big prizes for the end. That keeps everyone involved the entire swap.
  14. I'll need mine shipped to me also. I have no idea when I'm going to be in indy next. Let me know the shipping to bloomington and I'll send you a check first thing on monday. Thanks, Chris
  15. This has happened to me too. It could be a number of things like temp/salinity swings or low Alk. What kind of Blenny did you get? I've read that bi colored love to nip at SPS's.
  16. Check out this story from RC. I guess we have to be careful what we say here in Indiana. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthre...threadid=953093
  17. I thought I'd run this past everyone. Petco is selling all tanks 55 gallons or less for a $1 a gallon not including bowfronts. I ended up picking up a 40g breeder for a frag tank for $40. Normal price is $100.
  18. I am thinking about running carbon also until I can put enough money together for Ozone. I did run it in the past in a fluidized media chamber but if I have to replace part of it each week that probably won't work well.
  19. I'd like to thank everyone who put in the time and effort in to bring Anthony Calfo to Indy and meet with us. It was well worth my drive from Bloomington!
  20. I'll be there. Christy, I'll take one of your caps. Also might be interested in some of that starboard.
  21. My wife has given me the okay to use my old 40g Hex tank to setup a FOWLR tank. Due to the setup I cannot run a sump and have very little room to hang anything on on the back other than the skimmer. What is the best way to filter this? My thinking was 45lbs of live rock, a protein skimmer, and a eheim wet/dry canister filter. I know the wet/dry is a nitrate factory but is that a big issue with just fish or should I just leave it off. I also have a regular canister filter if that would work any better. Chris
  22. I've used a number of different skimmers on my 55 with 20 gallon sump. I've used Becket, downdraft, and needlewheel and I like the needlewheel the best. I currently use a euroreef and have seen a ASM. If I had a choice I'd pick euroreef because it is better built. There has been a few customer service issues a while back back I haven't heard anything lately. Oh, PA has the CS80 on sale for 198.00 with free shipping. Quite a deal!
