  1. I’ve had 5 floods since the 180 was set up. All contained in the stand. Water twice, snail blocked drain in the frag tank. It happened twice before I discovered the snail. My skimmer waste jug cause I must of accidentally turned the float switch off. One time calcium solution, another soda ash cracks in the bottom of a 1-1/2 gallon jug. You know that only happens when the jugs are completely full. I feel your pain.
  2. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽 I’m not to long at work but I’ll be there.
  3. Alright Chanel and I will attend. Bringing a big-o dish of homemade Macncheese! Can’t wait to see everyone.
  4. https://www.mcmaster.com/6680A15 We use these at work. So I’ve managed to bring some home when we have extras. There very very strong. The magnet is sealed off and the strike plate is made of a 600 series stainless steel, helping against rust. They’re expensive but worth it in my opinion. They come in black too. https://www.mcmaster.com/6680a23
  5. That looks like a rainbow trachyphyllia. Retail about $100 an inch.
  6. Going to try to make it. I really want to be there. 🤞🏽Work goes well.
  7. So my wifey got me a surprise gift. I love these T-shirts so much. Has anyone else gotten any cool gifts? Here’s a tread to show them off. Post pics of your cool stuff😎
  8. I personally wouldn’t be concerned with any leaks do to dried up silicone. I had my 180 sit dry in a shed through winter and spring. Then sat at LFS for a bit and the warehouse for who knows how long. On a different note, being a used tank silicone can look torn, frayed, or uneven. Especially black silicone. Personally if I were you, had the time, skill, and confidence to reseal. Do it. I mean you already said you noticed something you didn’t like. Better to fix it now then waiting till it’s stocked and it sticks out at you like a sore thumb. just my opinion

  10. So I reached out to aquaticlife. No luck on parts. It’s an old fixture. In explaining it to customer service he informed me it’s more likely it’s a relay issue. He did give me a third party to buy the part from though. When that arrives I’ll put my electrician skill to the test. @ryansweet yeah I discussed that with the rep as well. If the relay doesn’t fix it that’s the last option. @SilentNight1793 oh! If it looks like the one below I’ll definitely keep you in mind.
  11. So I leave for vacation in ten days and the timer on my Aquaticlife 12lamp T5 fixture took a poop on me. I need a replacement timer does anyone have any aquaticlife fixtures laying around I can snag the timer out of it?
  12. Here’s another of some Rastas with more background. Same lens. I like this lens with t5s, I feel it is very close to the way the eye sees. Polyplab lens also come with a 15,000k lens for more blue tanks and a macro lens.
  13. Here’s some Bam Bams with and with out filter. I’m using the polyplab 20,000k lens only.
  14. I love my polyplab filter. Use it on my iPhone X.
  15. Looks I’ll be able to make it now!! I’m in for the gift exchange.
  16. I’ve heard convict tangs are easily in the top 5.
  17. I here you Paul. I’m struggling too. Not enjoying it right now. All due to my inability to keep things alive. i found giving yourself more of a challenge is a good motivator. Try sps only. Won’t be too difficult to switch what you have. Plus you can start by selling off your Lps and softy collection for sticks.
  18. So no circulation pumps? The closed loop system sufficient?
  19. Door prize #1 You could win will be this mini colony of ORA Mint Pavina. Door prize #2 will be one of the Rock Flower Anemones born during my November meeting last year. Hope everyone that wants come will be able to make it.
  20. Not to toot my own horn here but I could do it. I’m a sheet metal worker by trade. I work at Lilly welding and fabricating custom parts. I’ve made a couple light holders for myself as well. This is my light rack on my frag tank right now. Mine isn’t wall mounted but this worked for me. ( don’t mind the extra cable still need to make sure par is where I want it) The bracket in your photo appears to be 2” x1/4” thick #4 polish stainless steel with 2 45 degree breaks. Ehh. Contact me in a DM if you wanna talk further.
  21. Tank uglies!!! First signs of a completed cycle. For me this means time for a big water change and the addition of a clean up crew. CUC will take care of the diatoms. On a more serious note Bob @PetesFolly has a review on the nyos you got ,only the bigger 2.0 Give his tread a read. http://indmas.org/main/index.php?/forums/topic/18806-nyos-torq-media-reactor-with-20-body/
  22. I’m in the same boat 180 gallon stn of all my sps. Acros, montis, anacropora, stylos, First comes color loss then stn from random spots on the colonies. I’ve checked everything I could. My next move is going to be to add new bacteria/micro fauna by way of live rock or live sand. Hopefully the addition of diversity will reset any Imbalance that’s causing my heart ache. your not alone.
