  1. My dues are paid yet I cannot access the sale forums. I have sent a "contact us" inquiry but have not heard back.
  2. 2 adults for BTS in the afternoon. We cannot attend if it is in the morning.
  3. Thanks for the read. Very interesting. I guess I will just leave it alone.
  4. We have a 220 with 2 clown fish, 2 bengal cardinals, 2 yellow tangs, a hippo tang, a scopas tang, a fox face, a longnose hawkfish, a yellow wrasse, a garden eel, a mini carpet, and a rock anemone. We will be changing from a Marineland stand to a customer stand in a few weeks. We currently have a deep sand bed (approximately 4") and my question is, should we keep it that way or go with a more shallow sand bed? The person who is moving the tank for us asked why we have it so deep. When we first got into the hobby, that is what everyone recommended so that's why we went with. Also, we have really fine sand. What is the best way to clean it or should we?
  5. Just getting time to read all of this and first would like to say thanks to everyone who replied. I have checked ammonia (zero), nitrates (5 and that is being generous), nitrites (zero). Using a refractor for testing salinity and took it and had someone else calibrate it to make sure it was right. Just had a thought...this all happened after we ran out of silversides and bought a different brand that really smell worse than any others I've ever had. With that being said, I hate the smell of fish and don't eat it at all so I thought it was just me. However, all of the fish we lost were fish that ate those. They are going in the trash! I have a carpet and RBT that love them so I will have to get more but they will live until I can. How would I know if the ones I bought were bad? One other thing that is happening, is that we have a DSB. In the past couple of days, there are 4 big holes that I would expect to see if we had a big eel (we don't). Any idea what would cause that? Good news is that I just checked nitrates again and they are down to 20 without me doing anything.
  6. I've been working almost 100 hours per week for the past 3 weeks and haven't had time to do much with the tank. Hubby has done 20% water change and cleaned but that's it. We have lost 4 fish in 5 days. With today being my first day off in 3 weeks, I broke out my test kits and found that my water is a hot mess. We have a 220 tank with a 75 gallon sump so almost 300 gallons and I'm wondering how big of a water change I need to do and can do safely to get things back in check. Here are my numbers: Salinity 1.030 PH 8.4 Nitrates 50 Phosphates .25 Calcium over 500 (the test only goes to 500) Alkalinity 9 Any help is appreciated.
  7. We currently have a leaky 125. We have the option now of going back with another 125, upgrading to 150 or going all the way up to a 220. We can put a tank on a concrete floor so weight isn't as an issue. Opinions?
