  1. What size tank (s)? Some of those guts don't play nice in tight quarters. Love the thought of mix and match if you have the room. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  2. I was thinking that may be a good way to increase par down in the sand bed.... Glad I didn't try it!
  3. Not eating is always a bad sign but, I think the stress of trying to catch and QT would be harmful. I'd continue with the treats and hopefully he'll come around. Just out of curiosity, when was your last water change?
  4. Very nice! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. Nice job Brandon. A Big Kudos to Scott for selling the club to every person walking up to the door! (He almost some of the folks attending the wedding ready to sign!....... "By the way, what is a frog swap" ha!)
  6. Gregg, I think you'll find many of us have stories of setting up fresh water tanks in our younger years and progressing to marine aquariums. My first marine set up, like you, was the under gravel filter arrangement. So glad the systems have progressed (in various forms) to what they are today! Welcome to the club and I look forward to seeing you at the meetings/ swap. PS, I did enjoy you introductory note!
  7. Wow, scary stuff. Glad you're on the mend!
  8. Welcome to the club. Looking forward to meeting you at the upcoming meetings!
  9. Happy to help anytime! Set-up time preferred but willing to fill a spot time if needed. (L)
  10. Thank you for hosting. Nice job on the presentation and a fun gathering!
  11. fishicide, always a bummer. Odd for a clown fish.
  12. Wow, thats a tough one to answer. My guess is that if the original male is losing his stripes.. than the larger fish is indeed more dominant but thats a guess. I think the only thing you can do is wait and see. Stranger things have happened. Must be frustrating.
  13. Thank you for hosting Bill. Awesome tank! Great to see everyone.... I may have to go out and buy that pink gravel, really thought it would look nice in the tank! (do you think that would hide cyano???)
  14. Katrina, I agree with all the above except the coral banded shrimp. They can become unruly monsters. I like the cleaner shrimp, sporting the Hoosier colors of cream and crimson.
  15. Looks like it was a good meeting. Sorry I had to miss it.
  16. Very impressive! Its obvious you have put a lot of thought and planning into this project. Terrific job so far. Looks like it will be awesome.
  17. It does look like a lot of work to keep them maintained but very cool.
  18. Excellent presentation and discussion from the group. Thank you for hosting, great job!
  19. Cuban Hogfish love to eat cleaner shrimp also.... my kids named ours "Elvis" because that yellow looked like a popped collar. Had him for about 3 years.
  20. So many fish so many colors....... I've always liked the looks of a square anthias (almost neon colors) powder blue tangs have awesome colors but can be brutes, and under the catagory as long as they don't eat my shrimp or snails... a flame hawk fish. I like their spot of color and the fact that they are always swimming from rock to rock looking like keystone cops (to me they have character). I kept one for 14 years and he was awesome! Found him motionless on a rock one morning in a perched position, dead as a doornail. Maybe because his fins were stiff and he was fat he didn't roll over!
  21. Honestly, one of the funniest commentaries I have read. Just a thought... if you have a number of buckets, empty out the live rock and the hunt down the beast. Then re-stock / re-stack the rock. A pain if it is possible but better than losing more critters to Damian. By the way welcome back! I hope to hear more adventures from your perspective. Best of luck.
