  1. DA has two types of temperature probes: 1 is the "i" temp probe, which is native to the RKL, and I believe uses an RJ11 connector. The other is a regular temp probe that connects with a molex connector and works with the expansion modules (SL1/SL2v2). The RKL automatically searches for an "i" temp probe reading and if there is not one connected it displays an error. I can't say that nothing is wrong, but, if you are getting a temp reading then I would just disregard the error. The only way I know to remove the error is to plug in an "itemp" probe. Hope that is clear, It's been a while since I messed around with DA's controller.
  2. Well, powerhead works perfectly. I may never know what exactly happened. I'm now back in the market for an anemone, that I do know.
  3. You may be thinking about anti sync? Interesting that yours ran backward before. I usually put mine in slow mode when I feed in the a.m. This morning I turned them off. I wonder if when the feed mode ended the pump started backward? Like yours did after the power outage. I guess DC pumps are vulnerable to that as well. I know the Korallias where notorious for it. Thanks
  4. I don't think there is any mode that goes in reverse. I could be wrong, but, that doesn't seem safe to the fish swimming by them, especially with the size of the propeller housing.
  5. What makes me question that is when he unplugged the pump the LTA "just fell off". I won't be home until after 9 p.m. tonight and I'm going to test the pump out. Yeah, it is a real bummer, I just sold my RBTA's also...
  6. I receive this from my boy at home... That thing in the middle of my MP40 "was" my Long Tip Anemone. How did that happen? With over 2000 gph leaving the powerhead it doesn't seem likely that anything would get "pulled" in. This is the entire reason that I keep the covers on the wetside - so this wouldn't happen...grrrr. I know the Korallia's have been known to run in reverse, but, I always thought that was because of them being AC Current. I have never read about a Vortech running in reverse. Is that possible?
  7. Hate to say it, but, it looks kinda cool. Was trying to avoid turbos as they get so big and clumsy. The trochus just are not up for the task though. Have a few turbos in my other tank, might give them a try. Thanks
  8. Only algae in the tank right now. I don't remember seeing bubbles on it like the photo implies. I have had Cyano before and this isn't like the type I've had before. Kinda looks like this from reefcleaners website, except more purple. I have a longspined urchin and red legged hermits in the tank. They don't appear to be touching it. I'm not real worried about it, pretty sure it will disappear as soon as I get the Phos back under control. Just curious if anyone has seen it before and knew what type it is. Thanks
  9. Not sure how long he's been around. I just recently found him. The stock fluctuates a lot on his website. It was kinda low last week then Thursday and Friday he added a couple hundred wysiwyg. All the prices are the same as far as I know. His "shop" is in his garage and its what he does for a living, real nice place though. Didn't see many sps - a few - chalice, milli, monti. I think he posts most of what he has online, one of his raceways was mostly for grow out, other two seemed like stock. I was looking for zoas and mushrooms and he had a ton of those.
  10. I will try to post some pics tomorrow, most likely night.
  11. Drove to Fort Wayne today to pick up some corals from www.aquacoralfarms.com and wanted to give a shout out to Rob McCoy. Rob is a super nice guy with an awesome setup for his corals. His racetracks were very well maintained and clean. When asked about bugs, he said he dips all his corals before they go into his system and I believe him. All the pieces I purchased were impeccable and trust me, I thoroughly scrutinized them before putting them in my system. He has a wide variety of corals, but, i focused mostly on the zoas/palys, mushrooms, and acans. The prices are extremely reasonable - I picked up 3 mushrooms, 9 different types of "named" zoas. and some green star polyps for $135. Everything I bought was wysiwyg and was between 2 and probably 20 polyps with about 4 to 6 being average. I will definitely be making another trip down there in the future.
  12. Planning on taking advantage of the discounts, how do we get the coupon?
  13. HA...Yeah, got my Horizontal and Vertical backward, lol.
  14. I'm definitely in good shape then. Thanks!
  15. Yeah, that helps. It seems like it will cover the distance. My situation requires it to "draw" the distance. The specs say "Draws from up to 25 Ft. below unit". I've read that on pumps you can fiqure 4' horizontal in place of 1' vertical in head pressure. Assuming the specs are talking about Vertical distance and that reference is correct I should be fine. Sounds like your pushing it a good distance. I'm assuming your waste water is travelling back the same distance?
  16. Prolly should have ran a search first...will do that soon... Thanks!
  17. Thinking about using the LM3 and Water eXchange Module for an automatic water change. Any experience/thoughts on it? I will need to pull the new saltwater approx 40' vertical then 4' horizontal. The old water is just being pushed about 8' vertical and then 3' horizontal. The ATO is on a different system. I'm not against changing that over to the LM3 system, if it would add to dependability/stability. So far, it is working well. I figure I would also want to add a PM2 and Conductivity probe. Advice?
  18. Yeah, I sent her a message on here. Hope she has time this weekend. It's nice having her close. Healthy, quality, aquacultured corals without the stress, expense of shipping. And the funds stay local. Win win all around.
  19. Appeciate you taking the extra step to help.
  20. Thanks for the replies, now I need to find her number. It's not on her website. Does she monitor the inbox I wonder.
  21. Does dragonfly have public hours? I'm starting to stock a softie tank.
  22. Had similar situation a while back. Took 3 or so months for my calc to drop below 500 then pretty quickly (weeks) to 425. What worked for me was consistent weekly 10% water changes, testing and dosing alk daily and adjusting amount weekly. At one point I was adding 150 ml a day of alk in my 75 and measuring around 7. My mag rode about 1450 until everything balanced out and then I had to start dosing that as well. Coralline was taking off about then also. 29 is a small system so probably hard to justify an autodoser but the added stability of small divided hourly additions helped me out a bit. If u don't have space for an ATO then a Doser/Peristaltic pump is probably out as well. A lot of words to agree with the above posts. Do what your doing, test often and be patient.
  23. Just for the sake of closure. Router worked perfect for an interface to the dashboard. Didn't set it up for internet access yet because the Sprint tri-fi hotspot is completely unreliable for alarms. Only hangup was the laptop I was using had IE8 with Vista and the dashboard page would show up blank. Entered the IP into Chrome and the dashboard worked. Vista may work with IE9 or later just had no need to upgrade it since I had Chrome. Thanks for all the help. I'm getting ready to install the ALD, WXM, Breakout box with six floats and another EB8. I did not want to do that through the display.
  24. Very informative. I went with the Netgear N600. I will probably only use this for the Apex so should be good on speed. Thanks for the reply.
  25. Dustin recommended the Netgear WNDR4300 N750 which is of course out of stock at Fry's right now. Anyone know if the N600 would work or the ASUS RT-N65U is the same thing? I can't find knowledgeable help here. Just says don't know there different in some ways.
