  1. Thanks everyone! FYI, the 96th street location got out of saltwater last month, which is partly what fueled this question.
  2. Yeah, I know how bad Petco is, but I still like to cruise through every now and then. Which ones around the Indy area actually have saltwater livestock?
  3. Awesome, good tips in here. Plus my husband set up a live cam feed today that seems to be working really well and allows us to zoom in and see what's up.
  4. We're in Fishers and will be home in May, should you need someone to check in a time or 2.
  5. You're the one who tried to help me convince Kenna from Central Indy Aquatics that I had sent you to her! How's your Hollywood stunner doing? (And I quite liked your loud non-reefing friend that chooses hilarious names for your fish). The one who was someone's mom kept trying to talk to me about how the variety of coral on display was evidence of God. But then I got an urgent phonecall. Both times!
  6. I have friends that are willing to come in and feed fish and even do a couple of rudimentary things like fill our top-off but these friends are pretty clueless about saltwater reef tanks. They wouldn't really notice if stuff started to go downhill or know what to check if it did start to go downhill. We have an Apex but only pH and temp probes. Lights are on timers. We dose 2-part manually. We have 78 million new frags. And a seriously evil (like will raise actual blisters on my arm) anemone that just split and I don't know if the split will decide to wander. But we're going to Toronto (where the reef shops are hothothot) and might be able to bring back a lovely present for someone who lives *really* close to us and is *really* good at reefing who feels like popping by a couple of times to survey the tank. No one in particular (but yeah, you know who you are).
  7. Can confirm that it's in several Meijers I have been to.
  8. I won the bonsai frag rack, an adhesive strip of blue moonlights and a package from Central Indy Aquatics with 2-part calcium and a large container of reef-roids. I was extremely surprised by the brightness of the supplemental lighting strip. I have a standard 6x2x2 180 gallon so I thought the 32 inch strip of stick-on-LEDs would be barely visible but we held them up over the tank up against our monster light fixture and the penetration and spread was impressive (without halides and T-5s). We picked up a ton of frags (like 20-25), largely SPS. My current 2 favourites are a bright yellow tenius and Budman's purple haze elegans. Other faves are AV99's Glowstick, Aquascene icefire echinata, RMF's Last Dragon, and a $500 efflo (old school!). FYI, I was the woman in the red Lilly shirt that made me look like a volunteer (whoops) with the posse of redheaded children.
  9. Had a great time! The best part was when I got a frag of Budman's purple haze elegans and Louis (Gonzo) did not. Kidding! (mostly)
  10. Nice! Any pictures? I've been looking for a healthy Mag forever but I can't seem to find one.
  11. Like Magnifica (Ritteri) or Gigantea specifically?
  12. I wish I had a rock that magically produced plate corals!
  13. That purple haze morph is insanely beautiful.
  14. Broad spectrum antibiotic, cures infections etc. huge thread about protocols on Reef Central.
  15. I have ordered it from the Internet to arrive Monday. None of the local vets will write a scrip for it for an anemone. Anyone have any laying around? Or happen to be able to write scrips? (You don't even legally need a scrip to use it on fish, but I think a scrip is the only way I'll get some today.) Respond here or text (317) 847-2462 Thank you!
  16. Ok, we're not going to make it home before 8:30. We're unloading fish and rock into a stock tank tonight. Need to get tans off truck tomorrow to return truck by noon. We have the suction cups and it would be a 15 minute job, we just want it out of truck and into garage so we can clean it. Anyone available?
  17. Thank you. I'll update with time when I have a good estimate. Likely to be between 6 and 8.
  18. Planned tank move this weekend. 180 gallon, 6 ft by 2 by 2. It's coming from Michigan on Saturday evening, need help getting it off truck and onto stand either Saturday evening or Sunday morning in Fishers. This includes rocks and sand etc. Really need help, even in short periods, just to get this done. Only livestock is 3 tangs, live rock and soft coral. Help?
  19. Richard just emailed me and told me to make sure that my name was on the boxes because he had "a few" shipments to indy today! -Sarah
  20. I literally just sent this picture to Jeremy at MA last week and said that it was "Sump Porn". We're putting a 180g in next month in a sort of crazy spot built into our breakfast bar as a sort of peninsula. I'm hoping to get some expert feedback as we plan it out!
  21. Thank you for all the kind offers. We bought the better water from the LFS, did some successive water changes and our new RO system from Modern Aquatix has already arrived and is being installed right now.
  22. You are so kind. Thank you, my husband just found a pet store that will test the TDS in front of him and he's heading over there now to fill a bunch of containers, so please don't go to the trouble and thank you SO much for your kindness! -Sarah
