I was told i could use Cerium Oxide to polish them out but i dont know what the process is. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. plantguy Posted October 15, 2010 Report Share Posted October 15, 2010 Its glass if he's using cerium oxide. It can be done, just messy, and you need some specialized stuff for the polishing. plantguy Posted October 18, 2010 Report Share Posted October 18, 2010 Doing it empty is much easier than what they went through. Being able to put the side you want polished down, helps a lot. That way, the weight of the tool helps polish, instead of something you have to hold up. But yeah, its not a fast process. Last time I did the front glass on a tank that size, it took about 7 hours of polishing. But once it was done, it looked better than new glass.
