stewart1019
Are there any Triggers that tend to do well in a reef aquarium? I mainly have all soft corals, zooanthids, and LPS in a 100 gal tank. Only a couple of SPS frags. They're such a neat fish, but I thought they could nip at coral? Just thought I'd ask. Thanks
trucker47501
pinktails do very well. almost all triggers wont bother your coral but they will eat all your shrimp and starfish! lol haha there very tasty haha
BTTRFLYGRL
Bluethroats are supposed to be reefsafe also... Premium Aquatics has a NICE Pinktail right now!!

Scalare102079
Sargassum, Bluethroats, Pinktail, Black Durgeon (M. indicus), Crosshatch are all good suiters. Remember, for some species it can vary from individual to individual. Some has keep queens and clowns with no problems at all.
stewart1019
Thanks for the help. Now I just have to decide between starfish and shrimp or a cool trigger. Tough decision there.
SJGreene
I vote for the cool trigger.
DEdwards
trigger too...chances are that the starfish will just bury itself and die in the sandbed anyway.
kaotic1121
I've had a 6" Black Durgean in my mixed reef with a T. Maxima, a Coral Banded Shrimp, and a Sand Sifting Star for over six months with no problems. They were all in the tank before the trigger was added though. I've kept a few different triggers, and this one is by far my favorite.
stewart1019
Very nice pics and fish. I do believe I'm going to give a trigger a try.
Scottdl99
I had a Niger in a 46 mixed reef. It did fine, besides killing a choc. mimic tang. Most likely due to me overcrowding the tank with fish... Post it if you get one... -Scott
stewart1019
I found a nice blue throat a couple of weeks ago and decided on him. He's fitting in very nicely. Here's a pic of him. And thanks for the advice
