lrood
I need to polish out some scratches on the front outside surface of my tank. Â Just wanted to see what others have used for this job.
reef finatic
Novus 1, 2 & 3 works well. Â Also have used #5000 wet dry sandpaper for smoothing out scratches and a #8000 wet dry sandpaper for finish and polishing.
lrood
Thanks.  Novus comes up most when I search around.  Guess I'll order a kit.
plantguy
For hand polishing, Novus works best. For machine polishing (Buffer/Drill) the 3m polishing compounds work much quicker. The 3M headlight restoration/renewal kits work great, if you have deep scratches, and are under $20 for everything you'll need other than a drill. Just use lots of water with the sanding disks. Usually all I need to use from the kit is the 800 disks, and the Trizact foam pad prior to buffing to remove most scratches.
