HowardJ02
Hey guys! My wife gave me the green light to set up another tank! 😬 It's my very first saltwater tank from back in 2007! a JBJ 12 gallon nano cube! I decided to go with black sand this time and I purchased my first LED light fixture! A Kessil A80 - I am loving it for the whole hour it's been on! Haha Just received my sand, light and a few other goodies today. Water went in within the past hour. Very anxious to get the ball rolling on this one! 😁

PaulS.46122
I'm interested to see how this one turns out. The A80 has been at the top of my list when it comes to light upgrades for my NUVO 10.
HowardJ02
The hydor-flo is blowing the sand in the front corner on top of the rock I have.. not sure what to do about that now. I put a bottle of Bio-Spira in last night - Salinity - 1.024 Calcium - 540 Nitrites - .25 Nitrates - 5 pH - 8.2 Phosphates - .25 kH- 214.8 Do you guys think a few gallon water change will bring things down to where they need to be? HowardJ02
Did a 3 gallon water change.. Just getting antsy after adding the Bio-Spira. It claims to be able to add fish instantly but I wouldn't/didn't trust that. I just got these readings: SG: 1.026 (I wanted to get it a little higher before I added any life to the tank) KH: 232.7 Calcium: 500 pH: 7.8 Nitrite: 0 Ammonia: .25 Phosphates: .25 Nitrate: 20 My calcium and alkalinity are high- what can I do about a that? Was thinking about adding a small piece of rock from my other tank that has a little bit of GSP on it. Would I just be killing the GSP? ryansweet
Personally, I wouldn't add anything in there if you're registering ammonia at all. But then it is only green star polyps.
Luke33
^^^ Agreed, why add something while still registering ammonia and your trites just became zero. Be patient
HowardJ02
Really I just wanted to add the live rock from my other tank, but the GSP has grown onto it from the plug.
HowardJ02
I put the piece of live rock with GSP in the tank about a week and a half ago. It lost all of its color.. Not sure what color and intensity to put the light on?
