AdamC00
I have had this guy in QT for about 6 weeks now. He eats great and is very active. He has been through 3 weeks of copper and 3 doses or Prazi-Pro. Ever since I added him to the QT, his eyes have been cloudy. Should I have any concern for this? What about if I add him to the DT? Thanks
MrsBugmaster
Cloudy eyes could be flukes or a bacterial infection. If you already used prazi then try an antibiotic. Were they cloudy when you got the fish? Some fish do have clouldy eyes like my one spot foxface. I though something with him cause his eye never cleared up. I do more research and found sometimes they just have cloudy eye. Not sure if the is the case with puffers.

MrsBugmaster
Furan 2 Can buy it at the Reef Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gonzo620
My Achilles tang developed some cloudy eyes toward the end of qt. I feared it was the start of popeye due to water quality and went ahead and moved him to the display. Cloudiness cleared in a few day.

AdamC00
I have done 4 does of the Furan 2 like the directions say to do. Besides my water being Neon Yellow, I have not noticed any change in the eyes.
MrsBugmaster
Maybe these links will help. I have never had experience with puffers. I would do large water changes and run carbon to remove meds and see how it does for now. Test your water and make sure to keep up the water quality. Good luck and keep us updated. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1881269 http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2101431
MrsBugmaster
May be a normal thing for puffers, I also found this: Re: help porcupine puffer with cloudy eyes Post by sevenyearnight » Wed May 18, 2011 6:53 amPorcupine puffers have a shimmery almost cataract look to their eyes. Maybe since he was so small, it wasn't noticeable, or it took time to "show". It looks odd, or magical. Those are great water parameters. Also with such a low stocked tank, it's not uncommon to get a 0 nitrates reading.Macro algae will remove nitrates, and I *believe* the anaerobic bacteria in the live rock also breaks down nitrate.+1 to the canister filter just being a nitrate factory. Once I removed the filter floss, nitrates are barely measurable. I change 25% of the water out a week anyway because my little dude is in his smaller"waiting" tank while the new tank is getting set up. It needed resealing. If you have or get API test kits, you really need to shake the Bob Saget out of the second nitrate bottle to get a proper reading. Top Is the cloudy eyes greenish in colour or white cloudy eyes? If its green cloudy like an emerald colour then that quite normal. I wouldnt worry too much and my advice would be not to treat him with anything unless he gets worse or stops eating. With puffers along as they are eating then they are in good health! You have had your puffer a while and have most probably watched him for hours on end so you know what is healthy behaviour and whats not. Just keep an eye on it! AdamC00
Eyes are still cloudy. He is still in QT as I have been out of town the last 2 weekends. I plan to move him to the DT this week. Fingers crossed.
Luke33
Some fish just have cloudy eyes. My rabbit fish has had cloudy eyes for a couple yrs now, is healthy as a horse, I've seen it many times. Sometimes I feel like people put their fish through 2-3 rounds of chemo before they are allowed them to live a somewhat normal life, and many of the fish parish because of this. Porc's always have reflective/cloudy eyes btw
