nteal
So I came home to find my tuxedo urchin had ahold of my carpenter wrasse. Wrasse looked weak but was still alive. I removed the wrasse gently which didn't take much as the urchin didn't have him that well. Any idea if the wrasse will make it? He is still alive but not swimming much other than just keeping himself in place.
ReefNewby82
Say whaaat? The tuxedo urchin had hold of it? That is wild - was the wrasse showing any sign of distress the last time you saw it? An urchin is a scavenger so don't know how it got it unless the wrasse was already sick or something? Hope it pulls through and is just as in shock as I am! Wrasse was a little distressed the first few days but has been great the past few and eating like a pig. I don't know if maybe the wrasse got a little too curious and the urchin's feelers got him or what
ReefNewby82
Man that is odd. The carpenters wrasse I assume? Yeah I reckon it could have gotten close and gotten stuck or jabbed by one of those dudes, does it appear to have any abrasions?
nteal
Yea the carpenter wrasse. Didn't appear to have anything too noticeable

nteal
How is the fishy doing tonight? He moved around the tank for a little the other night and now I can't find him
ReefNewby82
Oh crud, let's hope he is just hiding and trying to reserve energy after his scare! Keep us posted...
Dustin1300
I would guess the fish just ended up there and was not doing well. That's not something the urchin would go after, he just wanted to rest in the most uncomfortable place in your aquarium!
meacret
Maybe the wrasse wasn't feeling right and decided to try acupuncture?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
