AndrewG Posted September 29, 2013 Report Posted September 29, 2013 on the gouges, you may want to try auto body filler like bondo. You probably will need to roughen up the bottom of the gouges. The latex or acrylic paint should work fine. I painted the edge of my old tank with the speckled granite type spray paint to cover up some some heinous fake woodgrain. The specked covered up imperfections on the plastic and held up well over 10 years. The glass was easy to mask. Quote
dogum99 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Report Posted December 10, 2013 Long over due update on my tank build. The back panel had a crack in it don't know where or when it happened. Noticed it while cleaning it out. Anywho I decided to go ahead and move forward and replace the back panel. I got a hernia at work a few months back before I could start tearing the tank down. I spent last few weekends removing all the silocone and tearing down the tank. As of right now I have no intentions on working on it till spring because my garage isn't heated and I would rather have my car in there. My plan is to move the front panel to the back and order a new starfire glass panel for the front. Quote

dogum99 Posted February 4, 2016 Author Report Posted February 4, 2016 I guess 2 years in the making a free tank kick started my itch lol. Since my wife hates the 265 she was totally ok with repairing the 200. Which I'm ok with because once we had it drained and home it was in much worse shape than it looked at the guys house. Glass will be here tomorrow from Glasscages. I ordered front starphire and back regular plate from them just so i knew they were exactly the same and my back panel had some good chips in the corners. I should be ready to silicone soon. Waiting on getting my stand from my mother-laws pull barn. Quote

Just means I will be scraping silicone off the glass. I still have to silicone the inside. Which I plan on doing later this week and then attaching the top. Quote
