  1. I love getting new CL alert emails, but this search for "coral" gets my hopes up sometimes! Ooo, a garage sale post... prices could be really low on this one! Scrolling... scrolling... ::Facepalm::
  2. I'll plan on taking some pictures and catching some of the interesting products out there at MACNA this year as I've done in the past. I believe we've got 6 or 7 going to MACNA this year so contribute if you can! If you've got any vendors or products you might be interested in share and I'm sure as a cumulative we can get some of the answers and pics
  3. Premium Aquatics has Great sale (15 percent off storewide) And a lot of good selection of corals and Aqua-cultured fishes
  4. back in 2014 I bought a coral up in the Kokomo area. In 2015 my tank had issues and I lost the coral. I found this picture hiding in a folder and would love to get another coral like it. When I bought it the guy called it a Purple Nurple Thanks for the help, I couldn't figure out how the ID coral photo album worked cause everything in there was IDed.
  5. I cant believe it is almost time for the best frag swap around already!! Start saving your pennies and making your lists of what corals you are missing for your reef! If you came to the frag swap last year or particpated in the "free frag for a new member" program last year, you know that it was a big success!! We gained around 40 new members and had 8 renewals!! SOOOOO...we are going to do this program again!! BUT, we are going to have a seperate raffle item for those of you who donate!! This will be a cool item that any of us would want to add to our system!! Here are the rules this year... 1) Please bring your frag on a frag plug of some kind and in a specimen cup (if possible). If that is not possible, we are going to try to provide those at the entry table. If you do have a specimen cup, label it with what coral it is and "LPS, SPS, etc)...or we will do so on the cup that we provide. 2) Keep the frag in a cooler if possible until you turn them in to me or another staff member at the entry (please arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before the swap for this). We need to keep these warm as long as possible since they will be sitting on a table for a couple of hours! 3) Each person may donate up to 4 corals...getting one ticket for each coral donated for the membership drive. (I will start this off with 2 coral donations....so up to 48 total now needed for the goal). 4) Any coral not given away to the new member will go back in the raffle for those who participated in this program to win. If anyone has any macro algae to donate in doubled plastic bags...that seemed to go over well last year with new members. This donation will not qualify for a ticket in the seperate raffle, but will be much appreciated!!! Thank you so much in advance for your participation in this!! This went over very well last year...and we are hoping to at least gain 25 new members this year!! Please note on this thread how many, and what kind of coral please so that there are not a bunch of duplicates. Any coral works, just no NPS please!!
  6. From the album: Rob's Reef Tank

12/29/13 update on Rob's reef tank.
  7. Hey Everyone, I'm fairly new to INDMAS or any forum for that matter. I have been in this hobby for a little over a year now and havent turned back. But ive been an enthusiast pretty much since i can remember. I have a 20G Nano Reef aquarium which is progressing day-to-day. I have some pieces of coral in it that are doing fairly well and my chemistries i think are amazing. I hope cause my minor was in chemistry...lol. I have 20 lbs of Manado Rock that I purchased from Premium Aquatics, about 10 lbs in the display and 10 lbs in the sump below. I did a DIY drilled in the back and bought all the parts also from premium aquatics and plumbing from home depot. It was fairly easy to do it, although I was a bit nervous about drilling my first aquarium so all this has been a new experience. I have about 40 lbs of BIO Active live sand from livesand.com but i had to purchase it through thatfishplace.com. It is the smallest grain size and the sand color is WHITE. It's pretty cool stuff. As far as filtering the only thing I use is a Aquamaxx VS-1 HOB Skimmer and I have live rock in the sump as mentioned earlier other than that it is all natural biological filtration. I have never had a water chemistry problem even when starting the tank this skimmer is absolutely amazing although I would like to sell it and get one for under the tank in the sump. Here are a couple of pics I took of my tank yesterday to post on here, hope you enjoy!!! -Daniel
