  1. That was probably me. I'm going to get a mangrove tank started but it'll be a while until work settles down again. Plus, I need to find a place to get acrylic for the build. Reefcleaners has always been great to me and I'll always suggest them to anyone who will listen.
  2. I have a slightly bigger(20gal, I think) that I could loan you if needed.
  3. Looks like green turf algae to me. Check on reefcleaners.org and see what it says under the nuisance algae guide.
  4. I love my SWC160. Just don't clean it drunk with friends over and fall under the bet to taste anything that comes out...
  5. My rbta took over a month to settle in and start bulbing up. I got it from a friend who said he has never seen his bubble in the 2+ years he's had it. But his splits all the time, over the past year his has split 6 or 7 times so he's got to be doing something right even though it doesn't bubble up. I feed mine pieces of silver sides. Not on any real schedule but mostly when I just remember. It settled in a spot in the center of the tank high in the lights so it gets some really good photo time. If you figure out how to get your clowns to jump right in let me in on the secret. I'll be going through that in a month or so...lol
  6. Just don't introduce two clownfish. They start telling jokes, which are funny at first but then they just try and one up each other. Make up comes out, they pull up in tiny cars... Over the top man, over the top.
  7. YES!! He's the reason I almost changed to a species specific tank...
  8. I def wasn't trying to bash Inland in anyway, just trying to figure out in my own head. I don't know much about Ich or it's life cycle because I've never had issues with it. I know that the powder's have a greater chance of developing Ich and a lesser chance of surviving it but are all tangs more susceptible to the parasite?
  9. Sorry about the losses. Might be an uneducated question but doesn't Inland QT their fish? How did they not go through this in house?
  10. Today was so great! I almost feel like it was all a dream. Probably because I slept the entire way back... Thank you Leonard for the sweet ride to and fro!
  11. Well, I used to not have any envy for Dustin's life....
  12. I'll be bringing a few different beers also. Was going to do Sun King tomorrow if anyone wants anything.
  13. Definitely going to be there. My work schedule has kept me from getting to the meetings for the last year or so, so I won't miss this opportunity to meet some new people and see some old faces. Plus, the coral farm might be pretty cool too...
  14. Thanks for the responses and the info guys. I decided to get a Wyoming White and a Midnight. I really like the contrasting simple colors against a colorful reef backdrop. It will be a little over a month to get them since they will be QT'd before they make it to my tank(which I appreciate greatly Justin!) But I'll get pics up as soon as i get them in my hands.
  15. Finally, someone got their priorities straight...
  16. I am ready to buy a clownfish pair but have two questions... 1. Which is a better species to host a RBTA? (percula or ocellaris) B. I'm set on either a Platinum(percula) or Wyoming White(ocellaris) and an all black(Midnight ocellaris). Does anyone know of an all black percula? III. If percula host better to RBTA's is it possible for a percula and an ocellaris to pair up as mates? Thanks for any input guys!
  17. I've been needing to replace my camping lights. What's the price on these and the run time?
  18. It's a slight "off" brand but you could check out reefbreeders.com. I like their lights and they are not as expensive as Radion or Orphek. They don't use the cree led's in their current lights but seem to have good quality and quite a few features also. Plus, sometime this fall they are coming out with a version that uses the crees, there just isn't a price on it yet.
  19. Not sure that I've ever been this excited to be broke again...
  20. I'm going to enter a raffle tomorrow for a motorcycle. Are you busy?
  21. The only system I've had that these guys actually became a problem was a 34gal that got overrun with them. They were eating zoas and a leather that I had. I bought a pair of Harlequin shrimp and had them in my tank for a few weeks and before I knew it...no more astrea. So I took the shrimp back and exchanged them for a clown pair. I never saw another astrea star in that system again. Like Dustin said though, they normally just even themselves out and help out a little with the cleanup crew. I think I just had to small of a system and the right combination of "luck" with the issues I had in my 34.
  22. I have the 22in TOM. I really like it because the scraper is sharp but not so sharp that you'll get into the silicone unless you press really hard. Plus having the different heads makes cleaning the sand nice too.
  23. I've done 4 tanks(2 holes each), but it's been a almost 4 years since I've done it. Check the glass with polarized sunglasses to make sure it isn't tempered. Then take plumbers putty and make a crater around the drill site to hold water. Drill slow and have someone refresh with cool water very often. Again, drill slow.
