  1. I have this skimmer too. I too have to force air into pump to get it to restart. I researched this a bit; new impeller is supposed to help but one person suggested adding a nylon washer; which had completely solved their problem. I haven't had a chance to try that yet though.
  2. I can swing by the northside location tomorrow after work (before 5)
  3. So based on what I've seen on the chucksaddiction.com webiste, I'm guessing what I saw was a Xanthidae Crab. At least the pics I've seen of some of them look a lot like what we saw. So... any ideas how to catch that thing? LOL.
  4. I'll send in the morning , forgot about the markup Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  5. This guy reef safe? It's not going back in, more concerned about having to hunt down others like it. Also spotted a crab in my display that I didn't add. Half dollar sized, about 1/4" thick. Sickly grey color. Hid as soon as light hit him, no pics. Any leads would be good though. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  6. Cool. I'll have to check it out. I've been using Dropbox since it went live, I haven't had a problem with it thus far. I share recording sessions between my bandmates all the time using dropbox. Experiences are different for everyone though. Another tool I really enjoy using is BitTorrentSync: http://www.bittorrent.com/
  7. Guess my tapatalk hasn't been working too good. If you didn't cancel my order, let me know and I'll send the addntl funds. Sorry, haven't checked in too regularly Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  8. I need to get some new pics of this tank posted soon. Was fighting an algae issue. Between GFO and some pretty voracious trochus snails... It's pretty much all gone. Have some small spots that I need to pull out and scrub, but not really a big deal. Really impressed with the combo I used. I have a variety of zoa's that are doing well and starting to multiply. Looking forward to be able to trade those frags. Also have some montipora that appears to be growing out well too. I've been slacking on my water changes as my schedule recently as been exceptionally hectic. Buying came to a screeching halt when my poor jeep died. Having a car payment again is the suck.
  9. Just noticed a couple of bubbles myself. Do emerald's survive when there is no bubble algae to munch on? I'd like to get one in hopes that he gets the stuff I don't see or can't easily remove manually.
  10. I run my MH's for 6hrs so long as the temp doesn't hit 80, then it (apex) kills them for at least an hour.
  11. I'm not really sure I need another one, but what the heck...
  12. I use the Apex Lite. I opted for the controller because I wanted to operate my lights under various conditions. I didn't have enough flexibility with mechanical timers. I also wanted to be able to shut my lights down should the internal temp hit a certain point (80 in my tank). My heater operates using its built in controller as well the Apex controller. Sort of a safe guard, and it operates in a very narrow window. I love the "feed" option of being able to hit a single button and all pumps in my tank shutdown, except for the skimmer. I don't have to remember to turn it back on, it kicks back up after 5 minutes. I love the idea ( haven't configured it yet) of being able to setup multiple profiles to control my wave makers based on specific parameters. I have completely disconnected the brain in my setup and the tank churned on just fine. I'm curious about people that have had complete tank meltdowns due to a controller. Sounds to me like they had very little understanding of the tool and set unreal expectations.
  13. But I used 1/4" on baffles. Those still look nice Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4
  14. I used 3/8" inside my tank to plug some holes I had drilled for a loop. It was cut well, and looked good. Too bad it'll never be seen. Hahha. I had my baffles cut on west side only because other place couldn't get them to me when I wanted them. They were backed up a little that week Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4
