  1. The tank I have is a 15 gallon closed container, bought at the frag swap three years ago. Not sure if you want just an open trough or a closed tank but for that size my recommendation is to go to the Indmas site and write a post for "in search of"... exactly what you want. Folks there will point you in the right direction. I do know Mike762 fairly recently purchased two large closed containers for his new system to collect RO and to mix salt in a separate container both are in the size range you are seeking. You may want to check with him also. Good luck.
  2. Ohhhhh, that is sad indeed. I am sorry to hear that. Angels aren't known for being jumps compared to others. What a shame.
  3. Amanda,

I do have a larger water container. I believe I bought it from Luke at a swap but never used it as it would not fit in a smaller cabinet intended for ATO. Give me a ring on my cell and we can discuss 317-443-7192.

Lol, I have the same one and bought it at the same time.  Never have used it either!  Although, I still think it is a great container.  Just haven't found a good use for it with my set up.

      I did find one. Thanks

  4. Not sure how bad you have them in your tank. I hate that kind of stuff as those minor pests always seem to grow like crazy in my tank. Melev has a short article on them claiming to be reef safe filter feeders.... I suspect if the are on a flat surface they could be scraped off. Depending on what is in your system maybe a little Valentini Puffer may work but they can also go after snails, shrimp, crabs.
  5. When I moved to Indy from Chicago, years ago, I did something similar using buckets with lids. OR even buckets with garbage can liner bags that can be tied shut to prevent splash or spills during the drive. You will have to figure on system disruption so having some purchased bacteria for the restart may help. If you need to borrow a few buckets w/o lids let me know. Not sure about the best way to keep the water warm (Hand warmer packets and blankets around the outside of the bucket??. I'm sure there is a better way. Good Luck with the move!
  6. Great meeting as usual! Enjoyed seeing all of you there. Thank you Mike and Debbie for hosting. While the tank is evolving it looks like many things are coming around nicely. No doubt it will be awesome in no time.
  7. I should be able to make the meeting. I'll need to buy a calendar And want to see how that 17 year old Sailfin Tang is doing!
  8. Thank you for hosting Amanda. Your tanks are coming along great! It was good to see of the Indmas members attending.
  9. I'm able to make it! Signed up for the food to share, will participate in the gift exchange, and will purchase a calendar. Excited to see the progress Amanda has made on here aquariums!
  10. Really good info to know for future reference. Thanks!
  11. Luis, Thank you for hosting! A very nice get together and interesting speaker. Your tank and new frag tang are looking awesome.
  12. Agreed, the Bristletooth family seems to be the best algae grazers. I found my Kole really goes after the live rock.
  13. I remember talking with you a few months back. Those tangs were big, healthy, and beautiful. Glad they were re-homed to an even larger system. Looks like you have everything cleaned up and ready to start. I'm looking forward to seeing what lies ahead!
  14. Yeah, as Ryan and BGrand mentioned, that is not the norm.
  15. Good question. I just have my various test kits and an Excel spreadsheet to record my data. I'd rather move to something more automated, as I really don't care to spend time testing as a part of my maintenance routine. (But I do try to test weekly....)

    New guy here

Well you found the right group! Welcome to the club.
  17. I like the fact that you're going to a larger system. Love to see it when you have it up and running!
  18. I've also looked at the most recent Gyres (300's) and they do appear to be far more sturdy and easier to maintain. I ended up getting a replacement 200 (on close out) only because they are not compatible with the 300 series. Running two gyres and tossing a good unit and all the spare components seemed wasteful. I just hope this unit lasts for several years.

Now watch in 6 - 12 months I'll be getting rid of the PBT because its terrorizing to many other fish. 🙄

Moved to Livestock page. Traded it to save it from the Powder Blue Tang...... also trading other frags to Mike Eacret so it worked for both of us If I can keep his zoo's alive. (Bam Bams are the only type that seem to do well in my tank)
