  1. Found out this is normal and is showing it is working. That blab is the bacteria in the product.
  2. I put this in my sump and ten days later it has a bit ball of slime on it. Is this normal? What is this? Should I take it out?
  3. Awesome tank! Thanks for hosting, it was well worth the drive.
  4. Cat for adoption. Azriel,( as we have named him,) is a very sweet boy who was found at the top of a parking garage in downtown Indianapolis. He is not microchipped and no one claimed him in the area he was found, so he was taken in by us, we have been fostering him for a week now and finally have begun the search for Azriel’s forever home. Before bringing him home we took him to our vet clinic where he got a clean bill of health, free of parasites, FIV and FELUK negative, we paid to have him fully vaccinated, as well as all the other tests, and he was already neutered. We do not know his history, but he is estimated to be between 3-5 years old. All this sweet kitty wants is a loving family who will give him lots of pets and snuggles. He does have his claws, but is very well behaved when it comes to using his scratching posts. As long as one scratching post is present, he will use them. He has also used his litter box every time for the week we have had him. If you are looking for a lap companion Azriel is defiantly your cat! Azriel very much enjoys being brushed, petted, and most of all snuggling up in a cozy cat bed beside you. He is not a super vocal cat, but he will greet you with very soft meows. Our adoption fee is $50, and he will come with a scratching post, bed, and his favorite toy and fully vetted! You will also receive his vaccine history and a recommended veterinary clinic. If you are interested in meeting this sweet man and giving him a love filled forever home he deserved, please contact me through a pm or text at 317-709-6933 Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikOm4BGTuVs
  5. I own both the Smart ATO and the Tunze Osmolator and I prefer the Tunze not the nano version though
  6. That’s an interesting article as BRS put out a video tonight calling it a merger. So that’s a different spin on it.
  7. It’s a merger not a buy out. But BRS did but out Marine Depot.
  8. I think I can make it to this one. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a meeting!
  9. You might have better luck if you transfer fish to clean sterile tank after each fenbendazole bath.
  10. I use to be a member of the bird club years ago. I am not a fan of Bird Fever. We got our grey from a breeder in Danville, IN. I think she has retired now. 20 some years ago I use to raise some birds also. I raised several finches, canaries, parakeets, hand feed cockatiels and Indian Ring Necks.
  11. His name is Misty. Thought it was a female when we named him. Later got a dna test and confirmed he is a male. 🙂 He is 19 years old now. Had him since he was 4 weeks old.
  12. Dry rock and live rock both have advantages and disadvantages. There are a couple companies that put dry (mined on land) rock in the ocean and let it sit for a year or two then harvest it as live rock. This is legal to do. Just can no longer take rock off a reef anymore. And you can take some steps to process this rock to get rid of some of the bad hitchhikers that won't kill the good bacteria on the live rock (the reason for buying live rock). You can also do things to the dry rock to help get rid of the nitrates and phosphates bound up in it. This does take longer to do though. I think KP Aquatics is still shipping live rock. Dry rock Pros: No unwanted hitchhikers. Cheaper than live rock Cons: No biodiversity added to the tank. Yeah you can add bottled bacteria but it is not the same as what comes on live rock. Many people are having problems with dinos that start with dry rock. ( dry rock may have nitrates and phosphates bound up in it and leach out into your tank, then you may use product to lower these and bottom out your nutrients which will cause dinos )Many thread about this on other sites. No cool hitchhikers. Longer tank cycle Rock can leach nitrates and phosphates leading to algae problems later. Live Rock from the ocean Pros: Lots of biodiversity Cool hitchhikers Shorter tank cycle Cons: Unwanted hitchhikers Can have lots of algae More expensive than dry rock Live Rock from another Tank Pros: Established rock with biodiversity (know the source where it came from) Cons: Rock my have nitrates and phosphates bound up in it and leaching out. May have infestation of things you don't want, like algae, tons of bristle worm, ich or other disease and parasites and many other things. (know the source of where it came from) There are probably other pros and cons to each of these that I am not thinking about right now.
  13. I have both of these meds on hand if you would like to buy some from me. Send me a pm Levamisole 2 treatments in 10 gallon tank = $2.00 Pipzine 3 treatments in 10 gallon tank = $9.00
  14. It may be a isopod with may need manual removal. Can you post a picutre? I also use Pipzine or Levamisole hydrochloride for parasites resistant to other meds.
  15. Can’t make. Not aloud to drive yet by this time from my surgery
  16. Hi club, I am in need of some help with my 180 gallon to plumb in a new sump and a couple other things. I am having issues with my right shoulder and find out next week if I need surgery. I know how to do it myself but I am physically just not able to do it because of the pain and immobility of my shoulder. Also I am having surgery on Jan 21 for my trigger finger. My husband doesn't have a clue on plumbing, or anything related to my tank, so thought it best to ask one or two more experienced people from the club to give a hand. I would love to get this new sump put in before all this happens. My tank have been suffering lately cause of my health problems and I think getting the new sump in will help make it easier on me since it may be a while for my recovery. I also would like help programing my apex to do auto water changes and maybe a few other things. I don't have anything to trade but could offer cash. Please let me know if anyone can help. Thanks!
