ryansweet 201 Report post Posted August 31 I’m redoing the over flow on my 120 build and wondering what’s the best way to make sure all the silicone is off before I put it back together? I plan to use a razor blade to get the bulk of it off, but what solvent can I use that will take off all the residual, but not have issues with using in the aquarium after a good cleaning? SilentNight1793 134 Report post Posted August 31 Razor is going to be the best option. Clean with rubbing alcohol and should be able to tell if there is any remaining. I have seen people go over the silicone spots with steel wool, but I would worry about scratching
SantaMonica 13 Report post Posted December 1 Assuming it's glass, can use Acetone for the strongest removal. But never use it on acrylic.
