Westfield
Cant take a pic so.... It is pale yellow > light cream Shaped like a 4 legged starfish with one leg "stubby" Has a thin brownish line in the middle of each leg from tip to center About 3/8 inch across Yesterday while cleaning I knocked it down, it blends with my sand, its back today It seems to move ever so slowly Thanks John
ReefNewby82
Sounds like an asterina star...
Westfield
OK so where would it come from?
ReefNewby82
Hitch hiker is my guess. They are beneficial glass cleaners...most of the time. I have had a few rogue ones that eat zoas. Typically these ones are darker grey that eat corals in my experience.

Reefer82
Kinda what I'm thinking. Most are good....some are bad. I've lost quite a few polyps to them in the past
jbender88
Agreed, sounds like an asterina. One hitchhiked on a frag into my tank a year or two ago. I've not noticed any ill effects. They do multiply readily but their numbers seem to be limited by the nutrient supply. I've never had them to the point they coat my glass like I've seen in some tanks.
