  1. This is interesting. Are the able to get a nice bevel edge and do a polish so that final assembly on a tank would look professional?
  2. This is exactly what happens about every 3-4 weeks with mine. BTW- 110g, medium stock, Orphek Helix 3000. Jebao DC5000 rebranded pump.
  3. I was hoping that one of these would turn back up in the club. Great looking system. Keep updating.

  5. Agree with above, nothing here seems to be so far out of whack that it would be killing fish at that rate As Luke suggested- 1. Go back to the basics- Ammonia, Nitrates, Nitrites...If these three are not way out of line then start looking at something else as a cause. Fish are very resistant most of the time to slow and gradual changes which means that it would have to be a drastic fast change to kill 4 fish within a short period of time. 2. Salinity- If you're using a Swing arm- be very suspicious of it's reading. They are notoriously inaccurate. If you're using a refractometer- when was the last time it was calibrated? A couple more suggestions- 3. Take a few mintues and fully check the tank looking for anything unusual, cords that don't look right, equipment that isn't "acting" right or anything out of place or that may have fallen into the tank/sump. 4. Food- Are you feeding frozen? If so is it possible that the food got left out to thaw at one point and then refrozen and it's bad? A couple more questions: Did the deaths occur in close proximity to the time when the hubby did the waterchange? If so you may look at the source water as a possible source of contamination. Question him at length and yes, enhanced interrogation techniques may be used if necessary. Has anything changed, been added to or taken away from the aquarium or did you notice anything "different" over the last couple of weeks?
  6. Luke.....you are killing me with these pics man. Serious heat....when is the sale?
  7. Awesome update Luke. Tank is looking really good. In 6 months that FTS is going to look so different.
  8. I would fully expect this to be a $400 accessory as well as continual maintenance costs for the various reagents required to test. I doubt as though anyone else will provide the reagents and Neptune will have a captive market for the foreseeable future. There is a lot of speculation on whether or not it will work with older apex units but IMHO I don't think they leave all the legacy systems out as most of the world is still selling the older apex units. I for one am more than ready for this!!!!!
  9. I know Mark has been out of touch for a couple of days on a project. Try sending him another and let me know if you get a response or not. Thanks.
  10. There are many types of containers but as far as I've found the brute cans are the most economical. I use about 3 of them. One for old water, one for freshwater and one for saltwater. I also have a variety of parts and pieces for the python water change system that makes it a LOT easier to do a WC. You can get cheaper hose and stuff but honestly, this system is pretty nice, the hose remains flexible for years (the main part of my system was purchased in 1992). They make extensions and different fittings and accessories. Amazon has them all listed.
  11. Well, what every you do, don't throw away those true union ball valves....they're crazy expensive. The sump design is very simple and I wouldn't plan on adding too much. As Luke asked.....what is the height of the baffle before the first sponge? It will determine the water height for the skimmer section as the skimmer and the filter socks will share the same area. As for the sponges.....I wouldn't use them all the time. I like to use stuff like that when I do a major cleaning as new socks and the sponges can help to clear the water quickly and then be removed and cleaned out well and allowed to dry until next time. As for running them all the time? I wouldn't run them all the time.
  12. I put in requests for both of you. My instagram is msr224
  13. I really like the dimensions on this tank more and more. Perhaps I will buy one and leave it in the office for a couple of years as I work on a second build..... Tank is looking great. I like the painted bottom!
